We havent arrested any one in Sajid murder-Police

Police in Lusaka say they have not made any arrests regarding the murder of Cyclone Hardware & Construction owner Sajid Itowala.

Police spokesperson Bonnie Kapeso told the Watchdog that the matter is under investigation. He declined to give further details.

“No we haven’t made any arrest. The status is that the matter is under investigation,” Said Mr. Kapeso in a phone interview.

Mr. Sajid Itowala was a prominent businessman in the construction industry in Zambia. He was brutally murdered last week in a mafia style. His body was found in his Benz Car about 100 meters from a police post in Lusaka west. The car was locked. His body showed three gun wounds and broken limbs.

Meanwhile, all the outlets belonging to Mr. Itowala have been closed following his killing. A check by the Watchdog in Lusaka on Cyclone outlets revealed that the outlets have been closed since last week.

  2. nkole says:

it’s very sad that such things should be happening.
it’s quite confidence shuttering for people on the police service, because we feel so unsecure that a human being can be killed a few metres from a police station.

atleast explain some circumstantial evidence so that people understand that this is a unique case which relates not to ordinary zambians going about their lives.

mr kapeso please issue som misleading statement with an intended goal to deflate the fear in local populace.

  3. Amazed! says:

Name me just one country in Africa, whose economy is dominated by Indians and is better of for it? Malawi? Zambia? These guys through their corruption and greed kill off any chances of an indigenous middle class developing and as a result sentence their host country they feed off, to a slow painful death! Drug dealing and corruption is their staple food. Botswana, Namibia,Zimbabwe- 10 years ago, South Africa are doing just fine without their type dominating the economies.

  6. mala msana wandalama says:

I knew this guy very well he was a freind of mine and a good guy, am still in shock. He was only 32yrs old but very successful. However, he was always living on the edge in trying to make more money and am sure he made quite a few enemies. He probably messed around wrong guys who refused to be ripped off and decided to sort things out in an uncivilised manner. MHSRIP.
