Andella nominated alongside Naomi Campbell
Reigning Miss Zambia UK, Andella Chileshe Matthews has been nominated “Best Beauty Queen” in the Black Entertainment, Fashion, Film & Television Awards (BEFFTAs) to be held at the luxurious London Hilton Metropole, on Saturday 17 October 2009. www.beffta.com

Andella, who recently represented Zambia at Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas joins other celebrity nominees such as supermodel Naomi Campbell; film star, Noel Clarke; award winning Jazz musician Yolanda Brown; X-Factor sensations Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke; Miss England, Rachel Christie; celebrity photographer, Bukola Garace; top international models, Ibukun Jegede and Jasmina Robinson; and fashion designers Gavin Pierre Medford and Yemi Osunkoya of the world renowned Kosibah Creations, among many others.
Also nominated is former Miss Zambia UK, Rosemary Chileshe as “BEST FORMER BEAUTY QUEEN” while the Miss Zambia UK Beauty Pageant has been nominated “BEST BEAUTY PAGEANT” and Perryfield Promotions has been nominated “BEST EVENT PROMOTER”.

The BEFFTA Awards is an international prestigious ceremony committed to recognising the all around accomplishments of black stars.
“We would be dedicating the BEFFTA Award to all the contestants who have ever participated in the Miss Zambia UK Beauty Pageant. By participating, they have each in their own unique way played a key role in making Miss Zambia UK one of the best pageants in the world”, said Justina Mutale.
Black stars to be honoured with the BEFFTA Awards will include Musicians, Dancers, Choreographers, Comedians, Radio personalities, Television personalities, Film, Actors, Actresses, Models, Beauty Queens, DJs, Event Promoters, Fashion designers, Hair Stylists, Make-up artists, Photographers, spoken word artists, Beauty Pageants, community newspapers and magazines.
“This prestigious event is a distinctly special awards ceremony honouring the best entertainment and showbiz personalities in the black community in UK and globally. It is also the first of its kind rewarding the outstanding contributions in all areas of entertainment and showbiz and celebrating the achievements of stars from the black community.” says Pauline Long, Founder & CEO of the BEFFTA Awards.
Stars from the UK and international black community are getting ready to grace the 1st Annual Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts Awards (BEFFTA) Awards in London.
The BEFFTA Awards ceremony will be filmed for television broadcasting for both UK and international audience. The ceremony will be hosted by UK’s top comedian and Choice FM radio presenter/TV personality Richard Blackwood and the young talented comedian, Miss London.
“To be able to reward all these personalities in entertainment, fashion, film, television and arts in one night, under one roof is a great initiative. I think an award of this calibre is due,” said BEFFTA Awards founder Pauline Long.

In that case is this a case of servant wanting to be boss? or servant despising boss for keeping servant in the background and only bringing her into the limelight in a crisis such as the Andella saga?

You also seem to be full of jealous and hate that is why you messed up with Andella in the first place. And what do you have to show the world, what have you achieved? Because the most anyone has ever heard of you Miss Wendy,is how Wendy Chanda Fornari swindled Andella and the sponsors. Your greatest achievement in life has been to swindle Andella and the sponsors, that is all that we know about you.
As for Justina and Andella, remember haters are like sandpaper – they rub up against you, it may hurt, you may bruise a little, but in the end you will be polished, beautiful and triuphant as we can already see and the sandpaper (in this case Wendy) will be worn out and useless. Her own jealous and frustrations will eat her up soon. Go ladies, go represent Zambia!
I am being realistic you award a person when they have achieved something so that they motivate others to work hard not for spinning. There is so much that can be done and the coporate world would actually support such girls but when you sensationalise failure as success you put false hope in young people’s minds and deceive the nation at large.

Only people who understand how pageantry works can be fooled by all this paraphenalia. Do you in your right mind think Naomi Campbell can come to an event organised by Justina and her masai friend dont bring down pageantry and modelling industry it is not for the faint hearted. What is she getting the award for…Comeon you get rewarded after achieving something and what has been achieved here?Losing at Miss Universe-what projects are being done nothing. No substance!If people like these are your role models there will never be progress in Zambia as far as projects are concerned. I think Andella is a great beauty. Body, face, everything. I amde that note on the other page where she was being striped of her title. I said it then and I say it now. Its about time we Zedians started appreciating the massive talent we have in the country. Be it in medicine, law, education, science etc we have it all. Some Kabovas have taken over the show and that is why we are in this mess. Way to to go Andella!
