Patrick
Late president Levy Mwanawasa’s eldest son Patrick (above) has charged that former president Frederick Chiluba is a spent force in active politics and his contribution to the MMD is destructive rather than constructive.
According to the Post Newspaper, Patrick has demanded the holding of the MMD convention to elect the new national executive committee (NEC) members since the party has already adopted president Rupiah Banda as its sole candidate for 2011, saying the current committee has departed from the principles upon which the ruling party was founded. Meanwhile, Patrick has expressed displeasure at Vice-President George Kunda’s insolence for Mwanawasa’s legacy.

Are we a Kingdom to show concern to whatever is spoken by any mwanawasa. With due respect, i think this legacy being talked about was not that holy to be followed. We havent been told how Mrs Mwanawasa 47 billion in that small bank came into being. We are yet to receive a proper explanation on how ( with their certificate) chibombo topped up in having people in foreign mission. So patrick make up your own legacy by taking care of your mum and being a responsible citizen
This boy is just being used. He knows nothing. The idea is to bring a new face on the continued attacks and destabilisation of government. They knw that people are now tired of saying same ugly faces talking about the same thing. So a boy like patrick may rejuvinate interest. My boy, you are messing up you future.
Well Patrick Mwanawasa is exercising his freedom of speech, just as the short thief Chiluba does.
Patrick just stay away from issuing such statements. I believe you are being used by people who do not love you. Concentrate on your career and not the path you have started to tread. Just build your own legacy. You do not have the full knowledge of what you are talking about.
of all of Levy’s children Patrick should be the last to open his mouth and yap about the MMD,for starters the lad is very empty up there,no wonder he has failed to even get a degree even from the back yard universities of the UK.Patrick my advce to you is reduce on you liquor (Green label) intake and stop living on the soul called Mwanawasa legacy and do something constructive..while we respect the fact that you are related to Mpombo please spare yourself the possibility of sinking with him!!
AH BA GUY MY ADVICE IS KEEP AWAY FROM POLITICS THATS NOT UR AREA
you know what Patrick? you are a very nice young man and one with the best of this countries interest at heart and am sure your mum feels the same for you thus wouldn’t love to lose you. I can rest assure you that whoever is inciting you to do that is just using you for a selfish gain and if there’s none but yourself I would, in all honesty, advise you to stay away fom those dirty, sophisticated and mumbo-jumbo issues without hestating coz the guys you are grumbling about are more dangerous than the Edenic serpent thus would be more subtle than you can even imagine. please, patrick, just stay away and enjoy the whole lot of your life ahead of you.
Bravo Leaavy dont cow into silence turn corts like kunda can not get it both ways. The chap vigorasly persued chiluba during LPM but he is busy eating his vomit. Shame. Ni sebana wikute
Dear Patrick….I have seen you grow up from a humble back ground like your father…How you used to get a haircut from a known market till you went to study abroad. My posting this comment is just to warn you of the many wolves that surround you as a son of a late republican president. Need I, remind you that this is Africa, more especially Zambia…where we have seen young men’s dreams being shattered. Politics is not a game it can be likened to prostitution were one screws another for cash…in this case whatever influence or stature you think you have will be taken from you just after a small episode of pleasure. If I were you I would capitalize on being a successful business man as obviously business favors will come your way by mere mention of you surname. Better still wait for 2016 and try your luck in politics. Bottom line stay away from politics and concentrate on watching soccer as we have seen from the Post newspaper sports page.

When the world is calling on no child left behind, they are busy ruining the future of a poor kid.KK like RB had his children earn degrees from undergraduate to Doctoral why not help any of Mwanawasa’s children? Government has given free education privilege to these kids for life to any school on earth of their choice and ability even worls’ 10 top best prestigious in France, Span and the USA, yet these kids are failing to see the opportunity.Instead they are being used to make statements they have no clue about.Does the poor kid think without FJT his father could have marshaled the historic shameful dismal 29% presidency or without RB landed the 2006 second term?
Without education there is no future, this kid need be told.Look at late Chilufya Sata, Catro Chiluba and compare to Dr.Waza Kaunda with PHD and RB’s all MS and MBA graduates. The educated remain with a future while the illiterates thriving on parents are dying in agony.Go to school because the Mwanawasa name will only live with highly educated descendants not illiterates that you are.Politics is dynamic.
Dont listen to these parasites and pests like the partrits in food begging.Go on leavy it does not matter where you had yo hair cut what matters is your country being mismanaged. Bravo Leavy dont cow into silence turn corts like kunda can not get it both ways. The chap vigorasly persued chiluba during LPM but he is busy eating his vomit. Shame. Ni sebana wikute
Patrick as a Zambian you have every right to exercise your views, but son, this is not the time and place. Politics of name calling publicly get you no where, as a “former son” on the president, you could do well to seek audience with these people, and advise accordingly, not like this son, you are marely been used. Your father would probably be proud that you are brave, but shadder to think you would associate yourself with meembe!
Hey you jealous clowns, he is not a boy anymore, he’s a youngman exercising his right of freedom of expression and association. At what age did VJ join politics and let alone Kabila become President of his country? If i were Patrick i would be 100% into the mix. Talking about Education, how many educated 1d!ot5 do we have in this government? off cuff, Lungwagwa, katele, Professor Fashion Phiri, Simbao etc. so don’t go there. Mwaice go for it you will not be unemployable, your father took care of everything. As for you hypocrites please get a life echo mulowela bakaboke.
If you don’t want people to post here close the freaking thing. annoying.
Yes you ZWD
People seem to forget that Rupiah Bwezani Banda is the biggest tangible “legacy” that was left us by the late Patrick Levy Mwanawasa. Legacy, what legacy….
Being a son of the late president doesn’t exempt him from commenting on national issues. He remains z citizen and is entitled to his opion, as long as he is not being used by someone. As for those who r saying he is young, what do u mean. Do u need to be 50yrs old to see the mess going on in the country. Besides the lad is even education more than some of u. Get facts. I dont knw much about this chap, i met him though once in london. So my comments r not personal but based on merits.
mala msana wanzili,
Its technology blocking your insults.Go back to Lusaka Time where insults reign. The WD is certainly a platform of decency and dignity.
Patrick is so intelligent and wise than some of you on this blog who only know how to insult others for nothing! There’s sense in Patrick’s message despite being a young man, he’s even better than some of those in the cabinet of this corrupt figure called Rupiah Banda… He’s got sense of reasoning than some of you bastards who are on earth to parasite on others through out your miserable lives! LEARN TO APPRECIATE POSITIVE COMMENTS YOU IDIOTS!!!
Senior Citizen/patriot
You are a one man army, if there were prizes for s!lly bravery, daftness and s7upidity i would propose you for a purple crown. Your are some piece of work mate, all the best.
Who are you to condemn Patrick Jr? You have no moral right to tell the young man what to say about his Late Father. He has every right to speak about his Dad, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle, Sister, Brother, Cousin etc on any issue that goes beyond his boundary as a family. Above all that is his biological father and he has a special emotional attachment to the life and death of his father. Let the young man speak.
Tell this boy to go hang or join PF. MMD is not a chiefdom.
In Today’s Times of Zambia is an advert about Levy Patrick Mwanawasa’s estate. Ellis & Co and Maurine Mwanawasa are the executors or whatever they are called. This boy’s mother is a Ziba, and she is no where mentioned and he is not mentioned either. It means whatever Maurine is going to get from the estate will be 100% hers with her two little kids “from Levy”??? This boy will be left holding an empty bag. Young man get to your father’s wealth before it disappears to the Kakubo family—malandu wako.
I am amazed that now we have aristocratic families in Zambia! Eleven million people with wise ideas and views will never be heard in the national media but let any one of so and so’s child or relative open their mouth, it is news! This is sickening. What kind of democracy is this? Kaunda’s children joined politics and became politicians in their own right. Since Chiluba’s days, we have been treated to the rantings of Castro and now Patrick? Please!
The boy knows nothing its a pity that such coments make headline news.Lets be serious and report about serious issues
Let it be known that Mpombo and Mwanawasa were never related as in relatives, Mpombo is a Luapulan while Levy was strictly speaking a lala/Lenje person, the fact that they met at Chiwala and became close friends does not mean they were “related”. Mpombo is not Lamba but someone who has settled in the area just as much as FTJ is not Zambian but a kasai who has settled well in Zed because of dwancy heads like all of us bloggers, only Senuior Citizen is to be excused from the list.
Let the Boy respond to his father and mother corruption in the oil sector. Could any of the Mwanawasa’s , Mpombo, George Kunda, Katele Kalumba and others respond to Dennis Mumba’s report to Zambian Parliament.
Purebreed,
Who cheated you that George Mpombo is from Luapula when he is a lamba from Chief Chiwala 15 miles from Ndola’s Ndeke Township or Bwana Mkubwa mines.Luapula does not produce this kind of miscreats.
In today’s Post. Henry Banda looks like an educated young man with leadership potential than Patrickk Levy Mwanawasa jr who looks more of a drunkard. Is the Post Newspaper trying to tell us something here?
What can this ‘yo bally’ tell the nation now ? That his dad was Zambia’s saviour ? Let him tell his ‘mom’ to account for her billions first then and only then will the so-called ‘Legacy’ be something to talk about. I wish Castro Chiluba was alive to sort you out !
Patrick boy,you are damn rite and no one will stop you..your father was a man and you have evry rite to protect his leagcy and name…absah kasai kafupi na RB nyamasoya…
Cut that wig first !
patrick is right.not imwe hidding in insults while the country is being destroyed.ba zambia mwalibelela ama zeeeeee.let patrick speak.he is a zambian too.not imwe bangweleeee.ba pusii bakalukuluku.basiyeni bana.imitikula patrick is one of them
What Patric doesnt know is that it is Chiluba who made his father to be president,, I think Chiluba left us a better leader than the president Levy imposed on us.. Nevers Mumba would have done a better job than RB I wonder why Levy was so scared of the vibrant young man,, well Levy left a curse for Zambia just why did he do such a thing
I like this boy. He is coming up just like his father. I would vote for him because he represents healthy Zambian minds! Go Patrick
Patriot:
Your qute: “…… Purebreed,…….Mpombo is….a lamba from Chief Chiwala…..Luapula does not produce this kind of miscreats.”
Hmmmm, who is worse, Kafupi or Mpombo?
If Luapula is such an “up and up” region in terms of producing wise leaders, why in HELL! did it give us the “King of theives: Fimo fimo, Kafupi, Chiluba” and the LIKES OF YOURSELF, ‘Mr. whatever you call yourself’?!
You are such a sorry ASS, do you realise that? You shallow minded b@stard!!!!!!
My humble advise to this young man: I HOPE “WALI LEMBELELA IN’EMBO!” Otherwise you will be died in no time—-’BALE KULOWA.’
These guys are professional WITCHES—you can bet on that. If not by FTJ himself, I hear Hon. Katele Kalumba is always available for hire in these matters, LOL!!!
I aplaude your courage though, GOOD LUCK!!!
With due respect to the governance of the late president Patrick Levy Mwanawasa and all the founder members of the ruling MMD , I wish to strong disagree with the rants by Patrick Mwanawasa .
Levy tried to show outwards his elusive fight for corruption by targeting his thought to be enemies and it looks like God could not allow him to continue victimizing individuals for personal interest rather than national gains. The fight against corruption was wongly focussed and had no streamed lined strategies through which the existing government wings can use to fight the perpetrators .From the current discoveries concerning plundering of government resources in ministry of health and ZNBC , it is very evident that more money was stolen during LPM regime than the Chiluba government. The all fight agaist corruption is just a confusion of among thieves ,was so narrow and existed in isolation with other government security wings because the huge sums of money spent of on the so called Task Force. This does not mean we are siding with Chiluba as we feel should be held accountable just like hundreds of ministers who served the country with selfish interest.
There has been no legacy that has been left by Levy if my fellow technocrats have been following the happenings in our beloved country.
Ka Luapula Fish are you tukatopwe or Utumatuku utwanunka uluche? You are contradicting yourself man,get out of your low life!
The true presidents of Zambia so far are Kaunda a chewa and Mwanawasa a lenje, not Chiluba a thief from bemba kingdom and this curreent dull man from ngoniland… marubbish!!! Maybe a tonga or a lozi can redeem Zambian again!
