Former Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Teddy Mulonga says he is not seeking to stand on the UNIP ticket for the Solwezi central bye-election.
Mulonga who called the Watchdog Tuesday Evenning said he was approached by UNIP to stand on their ticket but that he declined.
He said he was very upset that the Watchdog published a story without verifying with him.
He said readers on the Watchdog are saying bad things about him on the comments.
Mulonga was rejected by the MMD in preference for former district commissioner Albert Chifita for the 19th November bye-election.
Mulonga once stood on UPND and FDD tickets respectively and lost on both counts.
Go for it man, it’s now or never! The position of an MP has just become too lucrative, shortcut to riches. From now till 2011 you are assured of a chi brandy new Pajero, a quarter term gratuity, duty free alcohol at National assembly motel, mahule, to mention but a few.
Folks, let’s not blame the man. He comes from there and does also have a good understanding of the needs of the people of Solwezi. Therefore if he feels strongly about the plight of the people of Solwezi, and that he would be the preferred and more effective servant, then let him have a go at it on whatever ticket is likely to deliver success for him. But if he’s doing all this to further enrich himself as he did at FAZ and Tender Board then history will ensure that he is thumped in the Solwezi by-election. It is just that some of us seriously believe that people are greatly bestowed with ability to repent. Let’s hope the election result will serve as an indication of the intention behind his decision to stand!
Wanu Ngwee my friend you surely still believe there are people out there who stand to save their people? These days it’s about a survival my friend, it’s about having a job thus it.
WISH YOU LUCK AT LEAST YOU SHOULD STAND AS AN INDEPENDENT MP NOT ON UNIP TICKET ITS REALLY FINISHED ASK TILYENJI KAUNDA AND ANAMELA
