Mulongoti wants MMD convention to replace ‘liabilities’
Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) acting spokesperson Mike Mulongoti has called for holding of the party national convention to replace some MMD National Executive Committee members whom he has described as liabilities to the ruling party.Mr. Mulongoti says there is need for the ruling party to hold its national convection to elect people that will reorganize and strengthen the party.
He explains that the poor performance by the MMD in recent elections is as a result of some NEC members who were elected at the party’s national convention in 2005 and have failed to deliver.
Mr. Mulongoti says new NEC members such president Rupiah Banda have kept the party together while some elected NEC members have failed to organize the party.
He says people who are making noise about the operations of the ruling party are elected NEC members who have failed to perform.
Mr Mulongoti says there is therefore need for the party to hold a national convention so people who have failed the party can be flashed out.
And Mr Mulongoti says the recent election losses suffered by the ruling party in Kasama and Solwezi have not scared the party.
He says the battle for what he describes as the big boys has just begun.
Mr Mulogoti says the MMD will have an overwhelming support in 2011.

Mike do you think you will survive a loss at the convention. Will see who is a big boy?
mulongoti ukushupa, you are now fighting with your own words.at first there is no money now you want to steal so that you hold the conv.
you thought you wer clever with your REV BLACK MAAMBA SHIKAPWANYA.you are joining us in the streets soon hustling.
ba mike you should always be see beyond your nose,do you know why mponbo is the hero?its because he sensed danger before before 2011.so my timely adivse to you my dearst uncle is please resigne when you still have little degnit remaing and join the pact…
sinior citizen, why are you different from allpeole of Zed? I’ve been reading all your comments and every time Iread I see Zed step a little backward the way a negative No. is added to a positive No.You’ve written about Membe who actually is not a politician but just edtor of a news paper and the Post news paper, criticizing Mr. Sata and Hakahinde.I just want to tell u that it is not what membe writes that has made the people of Zed to turn against the ruling party. It is the substandard perfomance that the ruling party has done.People of dont’t need to be told by anyone they are just seeing it themselves wisdom.Leave membe alone he writes what your boss is doing.and let me tell you that the people of zed can live without the president in the likeness of rb.They are born naturally with peace the almight God has given them. Why we know that there is something fishy in the government is when leaders like Mr. Mulongoti utter things like what is above.Lots of things are known to us by the differences in yo leadership where aliability is calling others to be liability. Now a promise to u is that we are going to be royal to our pact whatever you do we shall continue to be for the pact.I don’t vote but now to kick u out I think it is my chance. Viva pact. 2011 we are there to shame the ever flying devil.
Mpombo was energy minister during the 1st ever annual fuel crisis, he never resigned his post, now he’s bein called a hero! the entire mmd past present and future need to be booted out. after the convention you’ll see a lot more “heroes” suddenly emerge 2 be quoted daily in that newspaper & alot of Bootlickers emerge 2 be quoted in the govt media.
The MMD today is like a fish with a rotten head. There is no way the MMD will stop the rot if it continues with Rupiah’s rotten leadership-it wil contnue to stink & pipo wil kip away from it.AM LOVING THIS ONE.(from the post)
Now cash is available for conv. to flush out liabilities! This Mulongoti why is the mouth so funny, look at him closely!
gentlemen the party should re organise mulongoti is right.
the entire MMD is a liability. MMD out!
Surely Mpombo a hero? I could not even recognize him in the bush for his looks and yet someone somehow believes he is a hero. What are some of you chaps taking whilst blogging kanshi? Katata mixed with what?
At my farm, I could not even consider trust Mpombo to herd my cattle. Where on earth did they pick him from in the first place.
SATA’S PF PARTY CONSTITUTION ARTICLE 3 SAYS
“The party shall ensure that all the public institutions, State-owned enterprises and popular mass and similar organizations are led by persons who are members (cadres) of the party and who are uncompromisingly committed to the party”.
Is Sata worth talking about Democracy?
Certainly no. He has no fragrance for democracy. The PF, of which Mr Sata is the unelected self imposed defacto leader since 2001, is the least qualified to comment on democracy and let alone accuse the ruling party of destroying the Judiciary and Parliament.
Leading a party, whose constitution provides for party control of all public institutions, and the Judiciary vindicate the MMD that such PF is not for our country with its undemocratic provisions of the party constitution that if the PF were in government they would run public institutions on partisan lines and completely destroy democracy for PF.
Let us just face the facts here, how is it that such a useless fellow as Mpombo could be given a platform to spew rubbish? I mean, isn’t this the same Chap who was often worshiping, literally, at the feet of the late President? Please give us a break, how could such an irrelevant dot and speck pretend to such prominence. And for one reason or another, someone here on this blog dares to applaud him. Whatever has become of us Zambians that we should praise such an idiot.
How is it that nonentities are being given coverage by the so called ‘champions of free speech’?
Whatever your fear, I will not waste my time endorsing your new name
(1)-“The MMD has been opportunistic advantage of thriving on a fragmented opposition but not anymore.” Quote from a PF cadre
Not anymore! This is typical straight jacket disillusionment of Bwana emotion rants. You are really trapped in very emotional rants. Unity what unity? Unity of two tribal leaders disconnected on every fundamental issue has nothing to do with a national constituency that delivers ruling mandate. Nowhere in post cold war era democratic world order has the nonsense of tribal parties reigned.
This is why I sympathize with your disillusioned passion for regional parties. The best you can do is preparing yourself to fill in on during a crisis in 2011 or better for Generational change politics in 2016 after the Banda administration. What unity are you seeing in this circus of recruiting HH into Sata’s megaphone?
(2)-“At the moment all the economy of Zambia is in the hands of the opposition, so what really can the MMD boast about?” Quote from a PF cadre
Question
Really… Do they control revenue from the same urban constituencies? If so then why have they proved lamentable failure to develop any constituency? Go to Nkana, Changa, Mandevu, Munali, Roan Antelope or indeed Chawama constituency. Tell us what PF have done there other than daily soliciting from the central Government for funding? You must a very daft cadre comforting yourself o you don’t understand what you are talking about.
No sober person sees any fundamentally cohesive unity between the two tribal leaders excerpt street kids. Be my witness a time brings your dream into a phase of implosion.
mike, you are one of the liabilities in mmmd…flash yourself and RB out…
MMD’s liability is Rupiah Banda and not NEC… Rupiah has spoiled MMD with the way he’s running the country together with his friend FTJ and the party needs to flash this seed out or else 2011 will be a disaster for MMD!!! Rupiah has made a lot of uncontrollable mistakes which MMD will find difficulty to correct them! Rupiah should put Chiluba out of government affairs if he is to return people’s confidence, Zambians don’t like Chiluba near government business…
My hats off for George Mpombo, him and other brave men in this useless party have managed to shake the stubborn one. They’ve managed to make the convention a non-negotiable issue. In the dog world the vicious and stubborn dogs are usually the most unstable and insecure while the balanced ones know when to expend there energy and when its not necessary to bark and stuff. Well done guys.
Which Constituency does this Guy represent? He is so pathetic that if he was my MP, I would have forced him to stop representing me. Everytime it’s about RB, RB, get to work you little twit. I hope they teach you a lesson at the convention coz on level playing field, RB and you + big Shikapwashacan’t win an election
gentlemen out of 150 MPs in parliament only 55 have degrees/equivalent. of the 55 only about 30 belong to the MMD.So if the president retires some ministers where will he get the qualified members of parliament to fill the positions. As per our constitution only a member of parliament can be oppointed to the ministirial position? The president does not appoint MPS, we the people are the ones who elect the MPs.By the way who says the rural vote is misleading the country? Among the 55 MPs with degrees/equivalents, 10 are from eastern, 9 from southern, 8 from luapula, 6 from northern, 5 from western ; 5 from Lusaka; 5 from the copperbelt, 4 from northwestern and 3 from Central province.
The image builder Veteran keep on dreaming.Mulongoti,Shikapwasha, teta(RIP)Mabenga you thought by blindly sneaking in RB you will be super pipo now you are being haunted by your deeds. The fact is YOU are the ones Big liabilities.
All positions should be contested. No sole candidate or ratiffied poitions, because you may come back from convession worse than now.
I never thought this chap could see beyond his nose. However, the MMD should consider removing minions like Mulongoti and many others.
What Mulongoti has said is true. There is need to remove Liabilities from the NEC: The Liabilities are: Rupiah Banda, Micheal Mbenga, Mike Mulongoti, Vernom Mwanga and others. I agree with Mulongoti totally!!!!!!!!!
Mr mulongonti sir do u think u are an asset to the MMD?shame on u sir if u think so!mulongoti for yo own information u & RB are expenses to the party coz wat u talk costs yo party alot.i suport u on holding a convetion atleast some of u ill lose yo jobs.
this guy will get the shock of his life when and if they go for a convention. his little pink a$# will be beaten just like VJ was wired by Katele at the last convention. he is just alittle twit as Mpombo puts it
the biggest mmd liabilities-RB, shikapwasha, mulogoti, mabenga. wen eva these thez guz talk, they talk nonsense
The liability here nis rupiiah banda not any other person in your party.
Short people are ever problematic. Check yourself before pointing finger at other mr small man
Sir, be happy and patient to know that the convention is coming in 2010 while money has been generously secured with more still in good faith pledges. The list of liabilities has already been generated. MMD has no time for pacifists or unproductive accommodationists. Stand ready to embrace a core of spirited democratic goal getters that will electrify the MMD structures and functionaries from branch to NEC to every voter towards second and final RB mandate. Those who want to duel in comfort zones and appeasing have no constituency in the MMD game plan for 2011.
Gwebente you right (100%) but because of bootlicking he has become the major proxy.
First it was lack funds to hold the convention that led to this man to ask Mpombo to find money, now it is the opposed directin. The convention is necessary for getting rid of liabilities. Shifting the goal post anyhow shows disordery.THAT IS NOW BENDING TO PEOPLE’S CALLS. And this from ARABB not from this proxy.
Yaa this Character!!!! Is he ever going to show maturity in what he says. It is him who is a liability to the Zambian people.
