Kalusha
Zambia’ soccer legend and current president of Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Kalusha Bwalya has allegedly beaten up Post sports journalist Augustine Mukoka.
According to City Press, the incident happened in Cape Town, South Africa on Saturday when the two met at Press Day of the World Cup 2010 draws.
Kalusha is said to have slapped Augustine in the face.
And Post Newspaper Managing Editor Amos Malupenga has announced that the matter has been reported to the police.
Malupenga said in a phone interview that though Kalusha apologized to Augustine, the apology was not in good faith and Kalusha is unrepentant.
He said the apology by Kalusha Bwalya was not initiated by him but by FIFA officials who felt disgusted by the behavior of Kalusha.
He said this is not the first time Kalusha has behaved in that manner saying he has always showed hostility to Post journalists.
Iam ready to give kalu my ten or more fingers for having been a commited and great player for Zambia, no one not even negative, selfish or destructive critism can delete that record from zambia’s football page record, but not even at a point of death can i give him a skin from my small finger for administration, the chap has no leadership skills and i wonder how he manages his home.Being good at Kicking the skin of a dead animal does not mean you can lead people, so kalu’s leadership failure is a lesson to others who wrongly and poorly think that they can do anything just because they have made it in one area.

Strengthening on what Bbulu Bbasopu said, people need not look further that this so called “great kalu” is an impediement to soccer development pa zed.. iliyashi yatu bende.
Checkout what his peers have done back in their countries( recent example is drogba’s donation of 3million pounds towards building a hosipital in his home country)…academys that even youngsters such as quinton fortune managed to setup. Whereas kalu managed to bring the sports dept on its kneees after spending 365days in a hotel(pamodzi) until late LPM questioned the dept for missusing govt funds.
he continues fleecing the state thru FAZ with mediocre service.
If i stood next to this kalu i would have smacked his coconut head back to mufcane.

Why waste space and time commenting on that group, when we have CECAFA and AFCON to think about, equally to think about as a country is how to remove RB from power in 2011, as well as consolidating the PACT and bring in educated and vision oriented guys to the Pact like Mpombo , Namulambe, Magande, Prof. Chirwa, Shikapwasha, General Miyanda, Kenny Ngondo to mention but afew.If u comment slightly out of context let it be on the same person being talked about, lets have discipline on the blog .

Why a are POST journalist up in arms with the famous? Guess the POST need to find answers to this problem. Great Kalu’s behaviour is not welcomed but his apology must be welcomed.
Again, agenda setting like seen with the post makes a print media thrive regardless of the nonsense they write true or false. But the status quo of Kalu is beyond that and should accept media critic. Its sad that we are now being looked at as a boxing nation though not in the ring. Ester Phiri is a good boxer cos she fight in the ring and not street/gang related fights like what Kalu has done. Kalu is still a good guys and i again apologise to the POSt on his behalf.

Back to the debate…Great Kalu was very popular but this does not suggest he more popular than FTJ. In 1991, FTJ was more popular than Great Kalu. Charlse Musonda was equally popular. The 1988 Soel Olympics heightened the popularity of not only Great Kalu but also Charlse Musonda, Joneson Bwalya, Lucky Msiska etc. Great Kalu would have maintained his popularity if only he had not ventured in football administration. This area needs leaders not swimmers or people kicking the ball. For instance, Great Kalu can’t make a good republican president. He does not understand genuine leadership. Leadership cannot be measured by cheap pride or popularity!

Now, dont give that he is a human being crap! What is it about us that makes it difficult to accept the fact that even those we regard as heroes can be total jerks sometimes? Kalu, great footballer that he once was for zambia, has made a mistake and we dont need to apologise on his behalf and find some excuse for his stupid behaviour!

Lets’ not jump to conclusions about great Kalu’s behaviour. Kalu was not wrong to approach the Journalist, just like anybody else would if u write funny things about me , now its up to the trained journalist to use his professional ethics to diplomatically avoid a fraca’s iam sure they learn all these things, for example Augustine would have said sorry boss in few minutes u are addressing the world and here is my phone number any question see me after, another way would be if u have any complaints follow the right channel cos, iam a junior officer and cannot answer on behalf of Mmembe , i can assist to find u which articles u have appeared this yr and can take it from their. Iam sure if Augustine took the manner in a professional manner Kalu would not have done what he did, rmember as the post put it he was going to make a speech. so u know the pressure that pipo have before addressing others and iam sure kalu would want to add more pressure than what he already did.Whether post was their or not foreign journalist would have picked whatever he was to say and post would get the stori.

Kaps Maybin, what do u mean watchdog is hiding some facts? We have read the same story from the Post itself, Lusakatimes and Zambianfootball.net and they are all saying the same thing. Its only Mukoka’s story which is known for now and we can’t buy that as the chap has been proved to be extreamly unfair towards Kalusha. Leave the watchdog out of this!

Great Kalu is not as popular as once FTJ. Chiluba, now FTJ has been humbled. Kalu should know he has a PS Mulonga who doesn’t buy childish behaviour. The end for him has come. All the secrets of Kalu will be brought to light. Look at RB it is the POST that has helped the opposition! Kalu does not regret, is he now in a third marriage? No wonder his former wives run away! Is this guy still holding a diplomatic passport?

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya
FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya on Saturday slapped Post sports journalist Augustine Mukoka in Cape Town, South Africa.
The incident happened around 15:00 hours when Mukoka was heading back to the auditorium for the next session of the World Press Day of the World Cup 2010 draws.
Mukoka narrated from South Africa that he was in the company of his colleague from Swaziland’s Swazi Observer Kenneth Dlamini when Bwalya attacked him.
Below is Mukoka’s narration of the incident:
“I met FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya at the security check point to the auditorium. The program indicated that he was scheduled to make a presentation in the next session.
“Kalusha greeted me and I responded but immediately he asked me to stop. ‘Please my friend, I want to ask that you stop writing about me.’ My response was, ‘we can’t stop writing about you because you are the FA Football Association president.’
“Kalusha said: ‘No please… stop writing those lies…!’ I asked him: ‘which things?’ Kalusha responded: ‘things like I stopped players from talking to you.’
“I said to him that: ‘No! It’s not a lie.” Then Kalusha asked me: ‘Who told you?’ But I declined to reveal my source. I told him that: ‘I can’t tell you who told me but it is true.’”
After exchange of words, the following happened:
“Then Kalusha smacked my face and the spectacles dropped to the ground before I pushed him away. Two female police officers manning the security check point and other onlookers approached the scene to separate us as Kalusha continued shouting: ‘Don’t f*ck with me!’” Mukoka narrated. “Kalusha continued shouting: ‘Don’t even write this’. But I told him that I was going to write.”
Mukoka said he was immediately asked to enter the auditorium.
“I declined and asked the police officers that I wanted to put the matter on record. The police officers said it could only be done at Cape Town Central Police. I insisted I wanted this matter on record and I was directed to an officer upstairs,” said Mukoka.
In 2006, Kalusha while serving as Zambia National Soccer team coach had another altercation with Mukoka in France during the team’s training camp ahead of the Egypt AFCON tournament.
Mukoka had been assigned to cover the team’s preparations in southern France but Kalusha told him he was not welcome anywhere near the team and the hotel where they were staying. He asked him to leave the hotel.

If he is a villain in this poor country he is a hero in this prosperous country
