About K100 million cash has been lost in an
inferno that swept through Tukongote shop in Limulunga
Royal village in Mongu this afternoon.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty electrical
connection, but could not be confirmed by Zesco officials who had
rushed to the area.
However, Zesco workers managed to disconnect the supply cable to the
building and drove off, leaving the building still on fire with a few
people struggling to put it off.
Owner of the shop a Mr Nawa Luyanga who was still in a state of
confusion could not immediately say anything, but on lookers claimed that a lot of money
and property worth millions of kwacha
has been lost in the fire.
The shop was the central hub of all milk producers in
Limulunga area.

And you say Bembas are weird?
And who is talking about Bembas? You have nothing to say, so shut up!
Keep your money in Banks, you cant have K100m worth of day’s sales in Mongu. that K100m should have accumulated over a period of time. Infact the cash itself could have motivated the arsonist.
Does that shop belong to an Indian?
Nature has a way of balancing itself. You were busy keeping money in a silly shop and going by that attitude its clear you have no insurance cover, so you are down
Utulo, aba Lozi!
imwe naimwe, feel 4 the unfortunate man whetha its hiz fault or not 100m iz a lot of mney 2 lose just like that
Please educate these Lozis to open accounts and safe keep there money.Keeping huge sums of money
in homes when the same is supposed to be in circultion is an offence, moreover they risk been robbed.WAKE UP.
@Ponyax
Don’t be foolish. There are no Indians in Mongu!
Keeping money in money swallowing (banks)houses is also risk, a woman nearly died after discovering that Standchart swallowed her cash. Then this woman had K90 000 in her account. The bank raised the minimum balance to K100 000 and this woman left her cash to marry more money, expecting that cash to become pregnant and give birth to money. To the contrary, this woman suffered a K10 000 monthly deduction for not maintaining a minimum balance. After 13 months she went to this bank to withdraw some cash for christmas celebrations, she was shocked to be told that she was supposed to pay the bank K40 000.
Sakwiba was right in his statement that No tribe is important than another in Zed, Why, because such acts of cash to that amount cannot happen to Easterns or Bembas.
Huh K100m kwisa??Bufi!!! He knows we can’t count the amount cuz its burnt so he’s saying K100m. Tu lazaro mulanda are fond of telling lies.I don’t think anything more than ten pin was in that shop. Most people who keep money in shops like that keep it in safes which can stiil keep money unburnt during an inferno.Utu ba lozi nato paliba boasting sana ati K100m K100m, where?Just return those kongole u owe people or banks and stop lying that 100 meters is burnt in your shop!
chachine bati, i mean where was he kiping the mney, pama open shelves 4 it 2 b burnt? and how r we goin 2 very the amount that waz lost in the fire?
Honestly what is K100m? This is nothing to a guy who probably has a herd of 1000 cattle. To start insulting all Lozi’s simply because someone has lost K100m in a fire; I think is very offensive. A lot these st….pi….d comments are a result of your own prejudices against anything Lozi. Obviously some m…o…r…o…n by the name of Kadobi doesnt even know that trunks or safety boxes can also be made out of wood. Ponyax unlike in your province; people in Western province run and own shops they have never depended on Indians. Kay I think you have a very big problem ……we all know that Chiluba is a criminal and therefore all Luapulans are criminals, eh? Kay is this the way your maggot infested head works?
must be investigated. why keeping such an amount of money in the shop where there is no security? please, wake up!
Kay its your tribesmen who have utulo. Francis Kaunda, Chiluba and a cabal of other Luapulans and Northerners gave away Zambia’s mining assets for nothing. The mining companies rake in $4bn annually and give your govt $71m as tax. If there are i…d..i…o…ts aba kwata utulo ndi mwe. Honestly how does Francis Kaunda believe somebody from IMF/World Bank telling him that copper will runout in 7 years? Wasnt this i…di…ot Chairman & CEO of ZCCM for over 10 years? Surprise, surprise he new nothing about the remaining copper reserves. Is he Lozi? No he is not. He is some S….t…..u….pi….d kleptomaniac from the North.
Thinking someone kept that much in a shop because he is Lozi? That’s ridiculous.
Awe sure an individual loses his money and in some weird and circuitous way ‘ama Lozi ba tulo’. And this is coming from some citizens of some country who were swindled by Chiluba, Moshe Benashe, Katebe Katoto etc. Add to this Indians, Canadians, Swiss, Chinese and South Africans are shipping billions worth of copper out of this land of clever people(apart from Lozi’s of course) and leaving peanuts for every citizen of this country of clever people to share! Anyway tribalists and racists have never been rational people!
Hey take it EEzy Manuel,u sound like u’ve also gone on the same flames that burnt your bululu’s ten pin and and wants us to believe he had 100m!! what’s wrong wit u tu ba lozi kanshi?and why get a wooden safe cuz wood itself is not safe!wooden safes can only be sold kutu ba lozi regardless of where they are manufactured cuz a “safe” is suppose to be safe and being fire resistant is one of the criteria to be met when designing a “money safe” but probably u don’t know why u shuld buy a safe in the 1st place!
hey i didn’t kno we also have lozis here! nga imwe tu kaonde, are u there? natu kaluvale?don’t buy wooden safes please!!!!!!!in the meantime just return the kongole u got and stop lying your 100m is burnt, period!
Just get lost Kadobi monkey boy! You must be a pauper otherwise why would you even be contesting the amount of money that has gone up in flames. It seems amongst your monkey clan K100m is a lot of money. Ubupupu we nchushi we! You are certainly a depraved and poverty stricken tribalist. Hating people of other ethnicities wont cure your depravity. Hard work and honesty will. Now run back to the hole you came out of!
hoh ho another one engulfed in flames! mwanamubotu ur burning huh??just tell me ur tonga cuz i got something for every tribe and will leash it out on demand!you see iwe mwanamubotu that is the kind of ubufi we are condeming here.while this ka lozi chap is lying that he kept 100m in his shop where he only used to sell bubble gams and maheu, u mwanamubotu b4 we can even recover from this lie u also come up with another one ati K100m is small money?small money where?your former head of state was in court for close to a decade over 500,000 US$ and thats a former head of state then u want to pretend that K100m is nothing? you are the same mbwalala embezzling govt funds cuz u don’t even kno the value of money.K100m isn’t small money so if u work in govt and ur stealing our K100m pls stop the habit bcuz that K100m is not small money!now i understand why u chaps would have thousands of cows but u always wear worn-out patapata bought during unip era.
