First Secretary Political and Administration at the Zambian High Commission in India, Masugzo Kaonga has died.

Disclosing the development in a statement to ZANIS, today, First Secretary for Press Bwalya Nondo said the late Kaonga died in the early hours of yesterday in New Delhi.

Mr Nondo said the late Diplomat has had a kidney problem and was due to undergo a kidney transplant next week.

Acting Zambian High Commissioner to India Brig. Gen. Allan Kalebuka said the death of Mr. Kaonga came as a shock. This is because, only the previous day, the deceased was energetic and contributed constructively, to a management meeting.

Gen.Kalebuka said Zambia has lost a dynamic and diligent young diplomat whose services will be missed greatly.

The late Kaonga is survived by a wife and four children. His remains will be repatriated to Zambia tomorrow, for burial.
