Post’ sermon and prophecy on Chiluba

Post Editorial for Tuesday Feb 9, 2009

WHAT you get by dishonesty you may enjoy like the finest food, but sooner or later it will be like a mouthful of sand (Prov. 20:17).

The more easily you get your wealth and the power that goes with it, the less good it will do you (Prov. 20:21).

For Frederick Chiluba to say that he will sue The Post for calling him a thief once the legal process against him is over just goes to show that wicked people are controlled by their conceit and arrogance. Guilty people walk a crooked path; the innocent do what is right. Wicked people are always hungry for evil; they have no mercy on anyone.

Arrogance should be punished, so that people who don’t know any better can learn a lesson. If you are wise, you will learn when you are corrected. Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance to downfall.

Respected people do not steal; do not tell lies, and fools have nothing worthwhile to say. An intelligent and honest person learns more from one rebuke than a fool learns from being beaten a hundred times. Wicked people bring about their own downfall by their own evil deeds, but good people are protected by their integrity.

Honest people hate thieves, liars, but the words of wicked people are shameful and disgraceful. We are also reminded that “stupid people always think they are right. Wise people listen to advice” (Prov. 12:15). When you tell the truth, justice is done, but lies and theft lead to injustice. If you are good, you are guided by honesty. People who can’t be trusted are destroyed by their own dishonesty. Honesty makes a good man’s life easier, but a wicked man will cause his own downfall.

If you correct a conceited man, you will only be insulted. If you reprimand an evil man, you will only get hurt. But if you correct a wise man, he will respect you. Anything you say to a wise man will make him wiser. Sensible people accept good advice. People who talk foolishly will come to ruin. Someone who holds back the truth causes trouble, but one who openly criticises works for peace. Worthless, wicked people go around telling lies. They wink and make gestures to deceive you, all the while planning evil in their perverted minds, stirring up trouble everywhere.

It is not wise to commit any crime against the general public the way Chiluba did and think one can get away with it.
Thieves deserve to be cursed, because they have been the ruin of many people.
Chiluba can claim to be innocent, to be a free man following his highly questionable acquittal by Jones Chinyama and the refusal by his friend Rupiah Banda to have this acquittal appealed.

But nothing that comes from abuse of power, crookedness, dishonesty, manipulation, injustice and outright fraud will last. Chiluba’s claimed innocence today is not anchored on any justice or honesty but on corrupt protection from Rupiah. And when Rupiah disappears from the scene, the cloud that today shields Chiluba from justice will also disappear, leaving him open to prosecution.

There is nothing at law that will stop Chiluba’s case from being brought back to court after the corrupt protection he is today enjoying is done away with. Chiluba should therefore work very hard, break his small back to ensure that Rupiah retains power next year.

There is no honest government that will not take back Chiluba’s case to court because his freedom has been corruptly procured through the abuse of power. When honest people take over power, the first thing they should do is to ensure that the corrupt protection Chiluba is today enjoying is removed and he is sent back to court.

And we have no doubt, given the court record in the magistrates courts, that any fair-minded and impartial tribunal will find Chiluba guilty of corruption. So their claim that if there is change of government and Chiluba’s case is re-instated that will be an abuse of power, is nonsense.

The abuse of power is what they have done – to protect him from going to jail when the evidence is there to show that he is a thief who has stolen from the Zambian people; to dilly-dally in getting the London High Court judgment registered and enforced against Chiluba and his tandem of thieves.

That is what constitutes an abuse of power; reversing this and taking Chiluba back to court and ensuring that he gives back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar will not constitute an abuse of power.

It will be a legitimate and noble use of power. Those who commit crimes should not be shielded from justice by their friends who control state institutions.

Those who commit crimes and hide behind their powerful friends will be sorted out when their friends no longer hold that power. Protecting Chiluba from the proper course of justice is abuse of power; it is corruption on the part of all those involved.

As for Chiluba’s threats to sue us, we have challenged him before to do so. We were in court with him over this matter before, while he was still in power. We have told him several times that we are more than ready to receive any libel claim from him over his thefts.

As we have stated before, this is not a matter we can fail to argue and prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Chiluba is a thief because we have the evidence.

And in saying this, we are not relying on any judgment from any court or tribunal but on the evidence that is available both in these courts and in our hands. We will be more than happy if Chiluba took us to court. And Chiluba should stop lying that there are court proceedings against him that make it impossible for him to sue us because there is no pending case against him in our courts of law other than the registration of the London High Court judgment.

And this cannot be said to be a trial requiring evidence of his thefts. Let him just go to court so that the Zambian people can have another opportunity to see what this little crook did to their money, to their taxes – how he abused it and splashed it on designer clothes, girlfriends and so on and so forth. He shouldn’t think every magistrate or judge in this country will treat him the way Chinyama did. His day of reckoning is near. The freedom they have corruptly procured will soon evaporate like morning dew.
Chiluba should have listened to Levy Mwanawasa’s advice to return that which he had stolen and be forgiven. Forgiveness is easy when the violators see the pain they have caused us and sincerely apologise for their wrongdoing.

The trouble is that they may not always apologise. Some people just do realise how much pain they cause us; they are too proud to apologise. They feel that if they do, they diminish in our estimation, forgetting the truth that admitting a mistake is a sign of greatness. Humility is accepting reality: it is not wishing in vain to be different from what one is. It is truth, truth that sets us free.

Humility is not to go about saying, “I am innocent, I have been acquitted, I am a free man” when in your heart of hearts you know very well that you are not innocent, your acquittal has been corruptly procured, and that you actually stole. Humility is a virtue that is attractive.

False humility is disagreeable and puts people off. Who in this country doesn’t know that Chiluba is thief, that he stole and abused public funds? Who in this country does Chiluba think believes his story of innocence? Who in this country doesn’t know how Chiluba’s acquittal was procured and is being sustained?
There is no sensible alternative for any new government in this country but to reinstate Chiluba’s case so that justice is done. Chiluba’s case will certainly be revisited.

Well lets see who is a real prophet between Chiluba and Membe. When the plunder case came up, Chiluba prophesised that all who are against him shall be crushed. Wazakaza the lead investigator and IG later Died in a road accident, The former DPP who was handling the case was later removed from office and later found dead in his hotel room in south africa. Chiluba was found guilty in london by judge smith and the registration of the verdict was being handled by judge Japhet banda who died in a road accident before he could deliver his judgement. While Chilubas lawyer John sangwa was challenging the registration of the judgement in Zambia, Judge smith was being accused of corruption in the UK. Judge smith died of a heart attack before his own corruption case and Sangawas Challenge could see the walls of a court room. While Mwanawasa Fought had to have chilubas case closed before 2011, he died of a brain stroke long before the key witness Xavier Chungu could testify. His death came after he had lost his mother to a fire, a Brother to poisoning by a prostitute and a causin/ Minister to a road accident. Chiluba surported RB for the bye election while membe surported PF. Chilubas candidate took the day and is now president.Soon after the death of LPM xavier returned to the country and refused to testify on grounds that the supreme court had refused his testimony in the mazoka election pettion because he was coming from prison. Chungu informed the court that he was still coming from prison and wondered why his testimony would this time be accepted. Chiluba was then aquited and when Nkole tried to appeal, the appeal was withdrawn and nkola was fired before the whole taskforce itself was disbanded. So far it looks like chilubas prophecies have come to pass we now wait to see if Membes prophecies shall also pass.

  • Chimba wachibili wrote on 9 February, 2010, 13:24

Engines, you mean Chiluba is behind those deaths? well you must understand that he is but a mortal man and 1 day shall stand judgement. so according to you, chiluba’s cases are tied with death for those against him. this time around, you will be shocked when the judgment is passed. his heart condition will suddenly erupt and he is likely to die in that manner. so we shall see who the true prophet is, God or Chiluba

  • goodwell wrote on 9 February, 2010, 13:48

so engines what you are trying to say is that Chiluba should not be touched,he is some form of messiah. He is just a a problem

  • Engines wrote on 9 February, 2010, 13:54

Chimba wachibili- No no no…. its not chiluba who is behind those deaths. Those deaths where caused by natural events as well as unexplained accidents and circumstances. What is interesting however is that Chiluba declered himself a prophet and prophesised that who ever seeks vengeance against a man of God shall be crushed! What we see in those deaths is that most people that where fighting Chiluba have gone, it could be a coincidence or indeed prophecies being fulfied!

  • Engines wrote on 9 February, 2010, 14:05

goodwell, yer Chiluba could be a problem but one thing i know is that he is never idle. Chiluba is a man who is always doing something, always working on some project. If You and i expect Chiluba to just seat while membes prophecy unfolds if at all it will then we are inn for a rude shoke! My opinion is that Membe and the clique had their time in Govnt business Just like FTJ had his time in Govnt and the Courts and things might not be the same anymore.Everybody has to know what time it is now!

Ba post naba Mmeembe do not be righteous in your own eyes. Why is it that you always write with so much hate? Your motivation is without love and therefore, not from God for God, even in wrath, is a God of love.

  • Engines wrote on 9 February, 2010, 14:38

    cavima

you are jumping the Gun, what we are talking about is Chilubas Prophecies Vs those of Membe. whether these men are prophets of evil, doom or God doesnt matter at this stage.Lets us firstly establish who amoungest these people is a prophet and has had his prophecies fulfilled, thereafter we can categorise which of them is a prophet of God, Evil or just a mason.

  • goodwell wrote on 9 February, 2010, 14:39

cavima you are spot on. this is how naive pipo have become, someone will tell you that his prohecy is that goodwell will die next week and he will ensure he kills me. After that they all stand up and sing his praises saying he is a prophet sent from above.it does not work like that baba.

  • zuze wrote on 9 February, 2010, 14:41

chiluba is a false prophet and shud not be trusted with any tithe pliz!

  • goodwell wrote on 9 February, 2010, 14:45

Engines there is no need to even waste our time establishing who the prophet. For all i care none of them are prophets PERIOD!!!!

  • Engines wrote on 9 February, 2010, 15:16

One thing we must all acknowledge is that most of Chilubas prophecies have been fulfilled including the crushing of his enermies!

  • goodwell wrote on 9 February, 2010, 15:28

Engines thats why i said he can make al the funny prophecies and sort out his enemies. It does not make him a prophet, he can just be a trickster. dont follow these guys blindly

  • Kibakimani wrote on 9 February, 2010, 17:45

Engines, what you are saying does not make sense. You actually must apologise to the families of the pipo you have just named. I m not sure even Chiluba would want to associate himself with what you have just said. If its true there is any conection between Chiluba and the events you have highlighted, then chiluba is actually under the protection of the most evil one, “the Antichrist”.

Lets not confuse each other about professy, the bible is very clear, and it says ‘blessed are the meek for theirs in the Kingdom of heaven’. It never says blessed are the fearful. If you are really correct, then Chiluba is under the protection of the anti-christ, but well, I dont want to sink that low and I dont want to accuse Chiluba of that because I think he never claimed what Engines has just said.

As regards the Post and Chiluba, well, its sad that what I consider to be a noble platform is being used to settle scores. The Post has survived upto date because it carried pipo’s aspirations and went to great lenghts to peddle this line for sometime.

Along the way, the Post became powerful, and this fact was not missed by Mmembe who now wanted to shape the destiny of Zambia. Against popular support, Mmembe went out of his way to destroy the candidature of Mazoka in the runup to the 2001 elections, prefering Christon Tembo. At crucial times, the post made negative headlines on mazoka. Then they went after Nawakwi, literrally following her and ‘exposing her immorality’. But at the time of this morality bliss, one of the post’s favourite lady Ministers, was staying with a married man. nawakwi’s picture was destroyed almost beyond repair, almost spelling doom to FDD. Then inthe runup to 2006, the Post went out of their way to destroy Sata. In this election period, all the MMD could do was to reproduce Sthe Post’s editorials and use them as campaign material. We have seen them how they have tried to paint such a bleak picture of RB, linking him to everything deaned negative.

Chiluba is not a saint, but sometimes, the Post’s attack of him is unwarranted. Chiluba needed to be given a fair trial, but a fair vedict is not one delivered by the Post. As regards the acquital of Chiluba, the post have conviniently ommitted to highlight the fact that the prosecution team acted incompetetely, thats why, they kept on changing charges and kept on withdrawing case after case. Eg, how many of those charges use as grounds to lift Chiluba’s immunity saw court action. To rush into descrediting the courts is not fair, lets be level headed. In my view, Chiluba was genuinely acquited by the courts. But this is not because he is inecent, or because of protection from any higher office, but because the prosecution-who are Mmembe’s friends acted incompetently. So about their summon against Chiluba, all I say is direct your guns to the right targets-the prosecution team.

Man, do I abhor these editorials. Full of lecturing and rubbish. Sick!

The funny thing is, I’ve seen people read it with so much concentration that they might as well be studying for an exam. It’s so tempting to laugh at their faces.

The editorials have no value to add. They are personal. They stink.

For facts:Mmembe and his acolytes have personal hatred toward Chiluba! to make matter worse this CLIQUE at the Post thinks their newspaper is a path of wisdom for the people of Zambia! LET Chiluba test this wisdom in Court: Frederic stand up fight for your honor,Hire the best lawyers and we the people who cannot stomack this nosense anymore, will donate to help you !are this failures who were incapable to run a company, have the wisdom to ADVISE and entice Zambians to hate! Mmembe is not the Headmaster or public protector for Zambia! to make the matter worse; him and his clique are insulting the integrity of our judiciary – which iswell respected for its fairness worldwide-under the the cover of freedom of the press! can someone tell me in our constitution where the press is above law?

  • analyst wrote on 10 February, 2010, 0:57

who do the post think they are? i am so disgusted with their personalised journalism. why hate the man so much when he has so far been acquited by courts of law? the Post is not a court of law to judge any citizen. these chaps, Fred Mmembe and his minions, are now just interested in selling their papers with stories based on personal hatred. give us a break, puleeease!

Engines, you are one hell of a superstitious dude or are you a ‘kamuhure’.I’m not sure about Judge Smith’s death, what i do know generally is that, the adult mortality rate in zambia is very high.Just look at how many emminent and ordinary Zambians died just the last few years-teta,emmanuel kasonde, mwanakatwe, judge lewanika, gwendoline konie, etc plenty plenty my man.Scientifically, socially,in terms of religion or witchcraft, there’s absolutely no link between these deaths or the ones you mention and chiluba.Mind you, even chiluba’s son Castro died, how do you explain that. For the bible says, from dust i formed you and to dust you shall return,it’s as simple as that.Especially nowadays with the high rates of HIV in zed and elsewhere in Africa, people are just dying like flies.

This evidence that the Post has to prove ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ that Chiluba is gulilty where was it been for the last 8 years in which Nchito earned the odd 20,000$ retainer fee never mind the other monies spent on him and his croonies to fly and ‘investigate’ matters a place no and I say again no sane prosecutor should be.

If one looked at what various bloggers write its the frustration of seeing ‘desk lawyers’ eight years on 1,920,000 $ poorer for placing tax payers money in a defunct airline stumble in court and try to use a newspaper to convict someone.

With egg all over their faces the only thing left is to attack using a paper that long lost its crediblity sometime back. It took the courage of one Dickson Jere to expose what a bunch of criminals Fred and the Nchito boy really are for people to see what this bush paper is all about. They then called Dickson an empty head when everyone could see that an accounts clerk from Zisc with a little exposure to law and the books of the bible not found in other sane bibles was lying..they tried a softer touch saying Jeres adivse was falling on deaf ears to make peace with one who had done no wrong.

They have tried to use even bloggers to try and defend whatever little self respect they think they retain but the people know the truth they are a bunch of ridiculed men who live behind tinted windows.

Why so you think hey didnt ran the story on Mahtani well thats because he has the Nchito boy by the ba@@@ he declared personal laiblity before he saw a cent of FBZ money so he cannot talk and not even the god he calims to pray to cna save him

The auditor generals report is clear they got money from DBZ without requiste policies in place and look at some of the cases the ‘desk lawyers’ have been pursung? What is the difference? So now the issue is ‘ftj that ftj this…’ we are tired of such rubbish so we dont read your bush paper….
