A Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) party official in Kafue has commended the leadership for the party for coming up with a date for the party convention.
FDD Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary James Musemuna told ZANIS in Kafue that members at the grassroot are happy that the National Planning Committee has finally set August 13th 2010 as a date for the convention.
Mr. Musemuna said the move has cheered party members as they have being looking forward to a change of leadership.
He said members will now be able to choose leaders whom they feel will lead FDD to victory the forthcoming 2011 tripartite elections.
Mr. Musemuna urged the national leadership to ensure that no obstacles are put in place to prevent members from participating in choosing their leaders.
He said there is need for FDD to come up with strategies that will ensure it wins the 2011 elections.
Mr. Musemuna further said there was also need to reorganize the party at grass root level saying this is where members are.

its a good sign! however, Nawakwi should take this opportunity to leave the party honourably and encourage others to be fused in stronger parties so as to streghthen our democracy. She is far much better than most ministers can can contribute effectively when in government that opposition!
Mr. Musemuna!!!! “FDD to come up with strategies that will ensure it wins the 2011 elections”, in your dreams Sir, GOOD LUCK.
Good for FDD and president Nawakwi. I hope they will do the right things althought they are likely to further go into oblivion.
Have a blessed day all and all the best to FDD in their 2011 chances of forming GRZ.
