Chipimo sponsored by MMD, claims UPND
UPND national youth chairman Joe Kalusa’s has been quoted by the Post newspaper saing the newly formed National Restoration Party (NAREP) has been sponsored by the MMD to destabilise the PF-UPND pact.
“I am concerned that this new party is trying to use our symbol. They have a stretched arm with a raised thumb put on the left hand side of the chest. In the background, the hand is so visible and they are using the colour orange,” he said.
“Let them re-look at their symbol even as they launch their party. There are so many symbols that they can use in this world, they can use an elephant or a crocodile. We know that all these are Chiluba’s gymnastics.”
Kalusa charged that the use of a symbol similar to UPND was meant to hoodwink voters into accidentally voting for the new party.
“We are wondering why they want to destabilise the pact when they should be fighting MMD which has failed to deliver according to people’s expectations. They should know that this pact between UPND and PF is people-driven,” said Kalusa.
“Some of our members have attended their meetings and we are fully aware of what they are up to.”
And Mission Press director Fr Miha Drevensek has castigated politicians against using the church as a ladder for political mileage.

Dont worry about that ka symbol, VIVA pabwato not pact
It is interesting to see a lot of debates going on this blogg. Someaccuse the others as being tribal whilst others are refusing. Interesting. I dont want to side with anyone but i feel we need to look at issues objectively and offer an informed analysis especially when it comes to political issues. Remove the bias and avoid just supproting for the sake of doing it. remember, you are not theonly one voting. You have one vopte only.
Lets face facts, Sata alone cannot march RB and neither can HH. Not because of RB as an individual but because of the party, MMD itself which is an added advantage he has. Though you dont want to face facts, I was in Southern Province for about three weeks–rural Monze, Mazabuka and Choma–disagree if you want but people are support the PACT BECAUSE THEY WANT HH TO BE PRESIDENT AND NOT SATA PERIOD. That is crisis number one for the pact.
I remebre sometime back mentioning on this blog that if we are to look at the potential leaders of the pact, SATA and HH. The former is more popular than the other however, the latter seem to be comparatively better than the former. If HH were to be Pact president and with full support from SATA, the chances of winning in 2011 may be high assuming Sata fully campaigns for him. Sata can manage to convince his strongholds to vote for HH especially here in LSk and CB and probably Northern. The first two are urbanised communities and can easily change. look at past trends of 1996, 2001, 2006, 2008 for more understanding. This is highly unlikely however because then Sata’s chances of plot one would have been lost forever and that would go in the annals of history.
Interestingly, PF inside source, I mean NEC member or whatever it is called can confirm that they would not support that. See me individually if you want. I have two colleagues in there. on the other hand, if Sata became president, it would be difficult even if he wanted to, for HH to convince the electorate in his strionghold–Southern and perceived stronghold, N/Western and Western to vote for Sata. These are traditional communities that do not easily change and can not easily trust a young mand HH to swing their vote in that direction. HH is not that charismatic to convince then. I know him personally and have been to his place several times. This is a crisis which whether you like it or not shall ensure that MMD ascends top power. There is simply no opposition in Zambia. Viva MMD. afetrall, both parties, PF-UPND are not better alternatives to MMD for now.

Let the young man know that running a political party is not easy. Let him ask Sata, HH, BY, Miyanda and Aka. I have learnt that Many Zambians vote on tribal lines. Make an analysis of the voting pattern since 2001. If the new party is born with the intension to advantage the MMD it will die a natural dearth
I suggest they use a ladys arse as a symbol, firstly it would look generally attractive to men , secondly it would make an easily memorable slogan to recite to illiterate people, you know like PF’s pabwato, this would be pa.ma.ta.ko. Really flashy, easy to identify and memorable!

What votes are some of us claiming will be split? As far as I am concerned a vote for the Pact is just the same as voting for RB! Having been born 3 years after our Independece I am happy with Junior’s stance. How can we continue expecting development while we keep on voting for dinosours or is it fossils like Sata and RB? Let’s give chance to the young generation..those who were born as Zambians and not Rhodesians!!
FIRST IT WAS THAT VERNON JOHNSON MWAANGA RIGGS ELECTIONS NOW IT’S THE NEW POLITICAL PARTY SENT BY THE MMD TO DISTABILISE THE UPND BUT YOU FORGET THAT JUST YESTERDAY Garry Nkombo and Syiakalima were busy refusing they want HH out of the UPND and yet they were seen AFTER WARDS at some Lusaka Great East Road Guest House next to UNZA Marshlands talking HH.
In 2001 UPND under Mazoka polled 27% against MMD 28%. In 2006 UPND chickened out and instead formed a foolish pact with a lady husband grabber in the FDD and a finished UNIP party President and only managed 26% votes. In 2008 UPND decided to stand alone but this Boy HH was beaten to third place when he only managed 19% of the votes cast. Can you see that he has been going down ever since Anderson Mazoka was President? By the way do you know Given Lubinda was a UPND MP under Anderson Mazoka? Do you know that the entire North Western Province and Western Province were UPND strongholds under Anderson Mazoka? Do you know even Copper Belt was a UPND strong hold? Do you know that because of his Mungwi Secondary School connections Diecarb, Zambia Railways and Anglo American Connections Andy was not a tribalist like HH is exhibiting today?
George Kunda is telling the truth he has his entire intelligence network working very well. Only fools think George speaks from without. Can we ask why the big brains in the UPND are not talking in favor of the PF pact? Definitely the big brains in the UPND Hachipuka, Muntanga, Muleya and Matongo must have given their consent to the young UPND Turks to get rid of this spoiled boy President because they are the founder members with Anderson Mazoka when this boy HH was a mere Kaponya bag carrier for the great Anderson Mazoka. Whether sponsored or not, there is only one fact, ‘The best manifesto with practical ideas that make sense needs to win’. Its up to the voters to see sense in all the current and upcoming partys. Infact, competition is good especially when you have more players on the ground because each participant will ensure that they do their homework well enough to convice the people. Thru this, the participants also understands more. And a warning to all policians, as long as you enter politics with a view of making money as your prime motive, you will lamentably fail to manage the coutry such that you will be crying all day and night by peoples comments. Be serious. You can still contribute to developmental issues even when you are not at Plot 1.

Just have a look at the NCC recommendations for one to be Zambian President which might be placed in our soon-to-be upgraded Constitution of Zambia and stop day-dreaming. Even morality and criminal behaviour that has come out in the media attributed to Mr Sata MC/ PF disqualify your man Sata from contesting the Presidency of Zambia. Worse still the man Sata according to his former boss and protector, Mr FTJ Chiluba, can not even write in English and check the current Constitution of the Literacy clause on an MP election which is subsequently cogently implied on the President of Zambia election.

MMD IS THE ICONIC PIONEER AND GUARDIAN OF THE ZAMBIAN DEMOCRACY
MMD welcomes you Elias Chipimo into the democratic arena.This is where whimps are seperated from democrats. Whimps fear democratic renewal, independence of citizens to act without inhibition, they fear rivalry and alternative.These Whimps are practically communes who are always scared of their own shadows and rights of opponents. These communist whimps are internally inadequate and over dependent on political collusions that fail to alternatively prevail on policy and issues.
All said and done, only the pioneers and true Guardians of this country’s democracy ruling MMD are practically espousing strong and dynamic democratic norms which they are entrenched in and in support of.
Unlike the chauvinistic and xenophobic PACT members, MMD as the mother, father and pioneers of democracy in Zambia with democratic Zambians at any level cordially welcome President Elias Chipimo and his NAREP into the liberalized political space. We wish him wellness, happiness, success, and gains without intrusion or throwing mud at him. The MMD fervent prayers are that he can bring to the fora issue driven leadership long expected of the embattled opposition circus in the arena.
MMD and all democratic Zambians will never inhibit political dreams of opponents or itself share failed politics of titular parties who evolve around insults and vainly collude in non-principled marriages of convenience out of their natural sense of irrelevancy and inadequacy. MMD will keep embracing issue based democracy at any level but like any political party, it will seriously keep engaging all opponents on issues in best national interest. We will extend moral, spiritual and material support needed in emerging.

This data from the mighty UPND could well expalain why MMD outspoken Senior Citizen cordially welcomed the NAREP which will probably be just like those small tothless political parties that come and die a natural death within few months of being formed.
Whatever the case, the Bemba vote is most likely going to be split as it now appears that Mr PF/Sata MC may not be the UPND-PF PACT presidential candidate and will not qualify to be even Country Vice President should the PACT win the elections due to educational qualifications for one to be presidential candidate and Vice President of the country under NCC recommendations.
