RUPIAH is an irresponsible and playful old man, Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Wynter Kabimba has said.
Reacting to chief government spokesperson Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha’s statement that he was ignorant in his observation over the weekend that President Rupiah Banda went to China on a tourism stint, Kabimba maintained that President Banda had not shown responsibility over his recent trip to China.
“My statement had everything to do with the fact that at the time when this country is beset by heavy floods and the people of Zambia are dying and there is no food, there was a story yesterday Monday in the government daily, not even in The Post, that Luangwa district has no food, at the time when the people of Zambia are losing shelter because the houses are collapsing, Mr Rupiah Banda decided to go on that State visit,” Kabimba said.
“It could not have made any difference if Mr Rupiah Banda had been a responsible person to have postponed that trip until he has attended to his domestic problems as a responsible person.”

Imagine, it had to take an outsider, the IMF Director to thank RB for having undertaken a trip to China to solicity for more Chinesse investment into Zambia. Yet foolish PF/UPND leaders can’t. Its shameful and political immaturity in Serpet Cobra Satan and Hichilema Hakainde. The IMF Director is well exposed to economic issues globally than the foolish PF/UPND PACT knows. Looking at the economic indicators, we progressing well interms of macro economics but the need to engage the population into productive ventures which will bring about capital accummulation and with that, Serpet Cobra Satan theory of more money in pipo’s pocket is assured.
The IMF Director has told Zambia that the whole world is queing for Chinesse investment and have repeatedly said so on this blog that Zambia can not do away Foreign Direct Investment from China. That cheap politiking by some foolish opposition like the PACT. Therefore, Volcanologist still exist that the trip to China was not a waste of time and irresponsible on RB part but wanting to push for more investment which will have a better impact on pipo’s well-being.

The words are indeed harsh against abena Bwezani. Kabimba should have moderated these words. I however agree with him that 7-10 days of a State visit to ONE country was TOO MUCH. 2-3 days would have sufficed. The Technocrats would have been left behind to learn whatever there was to be learnt without necessarily having the Head of State around their necks. Even the receiving country must have also found it taxing esp in terms of logistics to host a visiting Head of State for such a long period of time on a state visit. Its because of the time it took that RB ended up in “smaller” activities below the status of a President. I submit.

Winter’s comments are childish and out of context because his not having any government portifolio hence Winter a baffoon of a politician. Winter amazes me because he lacks the understanding of a state visit. Imagine if Serpet Cobra Sata was president,he will be worse than Bwezani cos his tried to fight for it and to no avail. I followed the state visit by Bwezani to China and a number of positive achievements can be sited such as Tazara debt relief, pledges by Chinesse companies to further invest in Zambia, etc. Winter can not tell me that his boss plans of giving pipo’s more monies in pipo’s pockets can be achieved without Foreign Direct Investment. China has proved the western countries UK, US and the like that it stand ready to assist developing countries such as Zambia hence huge investments. What Winter doesn’t know is that even western countries are queing for Chinesse investment. To me Winter just shows how PF and its PACT are not ready to govern cos of their misplaced political ideology. I wonder if PF has economic and development advisors.
Yes, i agree that relying on foreign investment is not a solution to Zambia’s economic emacipation. But the question is how many Zambians have resources to invest without support of foreign investors? Serpet Cobra Sata stole from me and others when he was in government and Serpet Cobra Sata invested wisely for his family only and want to discourage Zambians not to accept Chinesse investment. So if Bwezani does not solicity for Chinesse investment at the level of a president, then whose gona do that, Serpet Cobra Sata, foolish Winter? PF needs to be objcetive in their arguments or else they are burying their heads in the sand and never to rule this beatiful country.

You impress me most of the times for one simple reaso though not always. You do criticise RB and also Sata where athey are wrong. thats better. There are cadres like Alistoto and others that think all the KAPONYAS of PF do is right. kabimba is a disappointment for sure. The man is educated but seems to pretend on certain issues. Does he think its easy to reschedule an appointment with countries as important and big as China or USA or any other. You get one opportunity and thats all. Issues of floods can be ably handled by the DMMU as simple as all that. Politicks has destroyed the brains of that man for sure.
Winter State Visits are planned well in advance as you having been from the council would know….You know issue of protocol, security etc..ofcourse you can cancel in extreme circumstances but am not sure RB being around would have stopped the floods as the rain doesnt revolve around him.
Anyhow I thought there is a fully fledge Disaster and Mitigation Unit headed by a PS under the Office of the Vice President isnt this where we should be directing the bullets? OR are we so politicised that we set off to lump everything on one man to increase his failings?
A little understanding of Central Administration which is distinct from Local Government and Municipality Adminsitration would go a long way to help make educated comments and remarks as PACT Secretary General I mean as SG for PF.
Show some legal expertise to help laymen like Sata understand these things….its as if you lawyers have lost their way given whats coming from you and Kunda.
