Ex-magistrate testifies in Mohan murder trial

Former Lusaka resident magistrate Frank Tembo yesterday testified in a murder case involving ink tech managing director Mathew Mohan and two directors of crown paint Idris Patel and Shabir Patel.
Mr. Tembo, the seventeenth state witness told the court that he was the lawyer for Mohan and Idris Patel.
He recalled meeting Mohan on July 21 2009 the date when cyclone hardware director Sajid Itowala is alleged to have been murdered.
Mr. Tembo said on the material date Mohan requested for a lift to the national airport
turnoff along great east road where he claimed he would be meeting a friend.
He further narrates that upon reaching the turn off Mohan got out of the vehicle and walked a few meters away from the vehicle while talking on phone.
Mr. Tembo said five months after meeting Mohan he was called by police who informed him that on July 21 2009 Mohan had possession of fire arms which he abandoned along great east road.
He said the officers further requested to be guided to the place where he and Mohan had driven previously.
Mr. Tembo said he led the officers to the site where two fire arms where discovered by two villagers who where hired by the police to help conduct the search.
And testifying earlier Lusaka division scenes of crime detective chief inspector Killian Muleya told the court that the late Sajid sustained five suspected gun shot wounds.
Inspector Muleya also presented pictures showing three chest wounds and two others on the face.
This is in a case in which Mohan, Idris and Shabir Patel are jointly charged with murder.

  6. Dandy says:

Maybe I just dont know these things but how can a lawyer just drive someone all the way to airport turnoff for the person to urinate and no other reason? Is Mr Tembo saying he has so much free time? I am of the opinion that Mr Tembo is seriously implicated in this murder case…and how about the money he allegedly offered Mohan? Mr Tembo should be arrested too…these are the mafia’s for Zambia….

  7. freeman on earth says:

Somehting fishy with our former magistrate. I hope he wont be implicated morally in these matters. Are we saying that Mohan went there again to dump the guns or he dumped them when he was with Frank. If not, how come the guns where found where they had gone to initially. I hope he comes out clean on this one.

  8. kamutanda says:

Rot in jail and repent your sins so that God can forgive you.
