Nawakwi is mentally ill-Banda

Lusaka Province MMD chairman William Banda has charged that FDD President Edith Nawakwi is mentally ill and that is the reason why she has failed to respect President Rupiah Banda.
Speaking to joy fm,Banda said Nawakwi has shown no respect for President Banda and should realise that he is leader because he was chosen by the majority.
He noted that the FDD President would heal from her insanity only when she stops snatching other women’s husbands and focuses on reorganizing her party.

Politicians never ceas to amaze me. instead of thinking of how they will improve this nation they keep talking about things which dont matter. This guy is talking about Edith snatching other women’s men when his new found buddy snatched a man’s wife. I really admire other nations like Botswana who are working towards the World cup because they know they will benefit massively. but for us our proccupation is talking and talking. What a shame anyways its zed. i will continue paying my taxes though!!!

On “… Banda said Nawakwi has shown no respect for President Banda and should realise that he is leader because he was chosen by the majority” I think Ms Nawakwi helped in having President RB voted to lead us as a Nation and without her input things would probably have been different for RB.

Following “He noted that the FDD President would heal from her insanity only when she stops snatching other women’s husbands and focuses on reorganizing her party,” I am sad to note that a big man of Mr William banda’s status can produce such demeaning about Ms FDD president Nawakwi to the whole world.

I hope Mr W. Banda will apologise to the whole NATION OVER THESE SENTIMENTS.

    Be blest all.

Matt 6:33 greetings. While I understand your “If HH or Sata goes it alone, will be dribbled,” I hope PF cadres will understand that UPND has the capability of going it alone while PF can not due its lack of a National Appeal and party structures across Zambia.

In view of the above, it is just honourable for PF and FDD to be swallowed up by the mighty UPND in a BUY-OUT manner of Business Management/Administration, which I believe president and 2011 presidential candidate HH is implementing in the UPND-PF PACT since he is an MBA and BA Economics graduate.

If the Buy-Out of PF doesn’t work, the UPND must be ready to go it alone since they enjoy mch support across Zambia except for Luapula, Northern and Copperbelt Provinces.

    Be blest all.

Hon Nawakwi may not have respected the President but again such a response is too corrosive especially when coming from an old man like William.I wonder if William would be able to advise his grandchildren to stop insulting if he happens to find them doing the same.Christians lets pray for our country we are really in trouble…..

This Banda does a good job of revealing the bad face of zambian politics! He seems to have just awaken from a comattose that has him thinking we are still a one party state! Can someone bring him up to speed? Meanwhile, MMD will do better to give us someone we will not be ashamed to call our chairman, please!!!

What Nawakwi said was just the plain truth, unless you don’t go to these government hospitals and clinics. So please let banda just spare the lady she has just hammered on the head of what is happening on the ground.Surely who doesn’t know that when a lady is going to the clinic for maternity business you must buy yourself bucket and etc?

I want to agree with what Goodwell has said we should emulate countries like Botswana who are thinking of national development instead of wasting time on useless and finished politicians who have no vision whatsoever for our country apart from impressing their masters.Surely what can a chap like William Banda offer our beloved country…..

  • Positivist pa zed wrote on 30 March, 2010, 16:33

Goodwell, my view of Botswana is firstly it has a smaller less radical population. Secondly the firm hold the government has on power enables it to concentrate on development and not the next election

  • lopa wrote on 30 March, 2010, 16:37

Ahh Ba William Banda its best if you focused on your main duty in that party of yours which is to neutralise Kadobi…yes Edith may not be exactly morally upright and might accept the occasional abuse at the hands of Hambulo never mind the verbal abuse from Hambulos wife…

But really you should be advocating for peace and advising young Edith on how to be a proper politician and not punctuate it with her promiscuity.

Given your recent found voice which you are abusing I wonder if both you and Edith dont need alangizi

  • Ulupwa wrote on 30 March, 2010, 17:22

MMD collects NRCs of deceased, former miners in Mufulira

THE MMD in Mufulira has allegedly embarked on an exercise of collecting National Registration Cards (NRCs) of deceased and former miners on grounds that it wants to assist their surviving families collect monies that ZCCM allegedly owes them.

According to a son of one of the deceased miners, the exercise was suspicious because as far as he was concerned, his late father had been given his benefits in full by ZCCM.

Rainford Musonda explained that as an administrator to his late father’s estate, he was not aware of any underpayment.

He complained that the MMD was trying to take advantage of his mother’s ignorance and naivety to use the family for their alleged mischievous activities.

“My dad died in 2004 but he retired in 1997. ZCCM paid him all his money but I was surprised to hear my mom telling me that she had taken my late dad’s NRC to the MMD district offices in Mufulira because dad was underpaid. I immediately told her to have that NRC withdrawn because we do not know what details they are getting from that NRC,” he narrated.

“In fact, we are told that there are a lot of NRCs that they have collected from unsuspecting surviving spouses of deceased miners on grounds that they want to help them fight for their money. Which money are they talking about?” he asked.

Musonda further said that his uncle was also an ex-miner and that the information obtaining was that former president Frederick Chiluba had left word that ex-miners should leave their NRCs at the MMD office.

“My uncle told me that when Chiluba came to the Copperbelt, he had left instructions that ex-miners should leave their NRCs at the MMD offices so that those who were underpaid could be given their full benefits. If Chiluba knew that the ex-miners were underpaid, why did he not sort it out before he left office? He is not the president and we wonder why he should deceive people that he will solve their problems,” he said.

“These gimmicks by the MMD should be investigated.”

And another affected son of a deceased miner, Samuel Sakanya, urged the opposition to be alert claiming that elections were rigged in such ways.

Sakanya added that even if there was any underpayment of deceased miners, the issue should have been handled by ZCCM-IH and not MMD.

When contacted, MMD provincial youth chairman Evans Chibanda said he was not aware of the exercise.

Efforts to get a comment from Mufulira MMD acting district chairman Rodgers Mweetwa failed as his phone went unanswered by press time.

As for Mugungulu H. Mwaanga, you are such a discouragement.

How do you manage to fail to comment on an article which is so clear to which every one is contributing? You merely blot the comment space.

Are you okay Mugungulu H. Mwaanga?

The public have a very short memory. This is not a new charge. It was first used by The Post newspaper years ago, and then Michael Sata when he expelled Ms Nawakwi from MMD. William is just letting the water flow through the channel that others dug long before him. But, come to think of it, when it comes to add al tary in Zambia, I wonder who would be casting the first stone, for ‘whoever looks desirously upon a woman, has already committed adultery in his heart.’ I plead guilty your honour.

  • ZWA !! wrote on 30 March, 2010, 19:56

What is all this BULLSHIT about people respecting or disrespecting Rupiah Banda. If Rupiah doesn’t want to be ciriticised he should leave the presidency. It is as simple as that. If Rupiah Banda wants respect, he must earn it by producing results – not flying around like a headless fly!

  • Alistoto wrote on 30 March, 2010, 20:41

Did you know that even congolese vote for MMD? Those NRCs should be handed back to the owners, ifileta impasase. Police, job yamoneka kuli ba Chiluba.

Back to the issue. I would like to know if what Nawakwi reported about the state of hospitals in Zambia is factual. If not then I concur with William Banda.

If William has not verified these reports, has not visited health centres, but decides to issue such a statement against Nawakwi! then there is a problem in MMD or is it UNIP

Apparently, this is the same chap that worked tirelessly to stop people from forming an opposition party, MMD (Nawakwis party) when UNIP was in power. I wonder who is a mental petient between the two.

  • Alistoto wrote on 30 March, 2010, 20:59

I notice that all postings sent between 8:00hrs and 17:00hrs Monday to Friday are from those supporting MMD. Are your paid for sitting on the computer 8hrs just to blog on ZWD and LT? What does ITC policy of your company say? You mean you cant blogg after shift?

  • Peacemaker wrote on 30 March, 2010, 21:48

    Alistoto.

What nawakwi is saying about the situation in clinics is very true, only a fool can argue.

At chawama clinic the only medicine they give is for malaria even if you’re suffering from a different disease.

My mother died two weeks ago. When she got sick we took her to the clinic where she was put on malaria drugs, after 4 days her condition deteriorated so my elder brother decided that we take her to premium medical services. There it was discovered that she had no malaria, the found some fluid in her lungs. Unfortunately, it was too late and she died the following day.

So I believe those who are disputing nawakwi don’t know what’s happening in these clinic.

From the cowardice that dare not face new truth, from the laziness that is contented with half truth, from the arrogance that thinks it knows all truth, Good Lord, deliver us”. Zambia is being ruled by selfish chiefs, clergy and recycled politicians who have hidden agendas and alternatives when a God forbid civil war erupts.Be real and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR. What happened to slogans like “One Zambia One Nation” if small chiefs have the audacity to chase people from the copperbelt?democracy is a wekness only in Africa thats why we spend more time talking whilst in abject poverty and expect donors to feed us.WHAT A SHAME ZAMBIANS! ata ata ata

  • Alistoto wrote on 31 March, 2010, 11:37

Let me correct Lubilo, he is too fast on this topic.

FDD was not formed by failures, it was fomed by 22 ministers (less one – Gen Miyanda) who said no to Chilubas acrobatics on third term issue. These guys were fearless, selfless, intelligent and hardworking, in short, the cream of MMD.

When Mwanawasa took over government he decided to work sided by side with a number of them, Dipak Patel is one of them. Because of her hardwork, the security lights at markets on copperbelt, initiated by her, were nick named ‘ Nawakwi lights’ Gen Tembo, a very effective and competent VP, Dipak Patel, a magician in commerce and Industry, Gen Miyanda a commited leader in Education ministry, the list of 22 ministers, with their rich CV, expelled by Chiluba for hard is endless

Ladies and Gents, frankly it is upsetting we start questioning the calibre of Nawakwi for stating facts.I dont care whether she served under FTJ or she stole other people’s husbands.Lets deal with what she said lets be issue based.
1.What is the state of our clinics and hospitals?
2.If our health sector is so great why do some people rush to RSA for knee treatment or blood pressure?
3.Today I was at Ndola Central Hospital they were no medical personnel to attend to patients for over 4 hours, most patients have been sent off to buy there own medicines. Why should we cry foul when one tells the truth?
