Bwana Mkubwa copper plant to shut

Canada's First Quantum Minerals will suspend production at its Bwana Mkubwa copper processing plant in Zambia in August after running out of raw materials, technical manager Andre Scott said on Wednesday. Zambia Gemfields auction achieves record results

Zambian mining group, Gemfields reports that its July 2010 rough emerald auction realised sales of $7.5m, the highest auction revenue to date.Per carat prices improved 83% over the last auction of higher quality material held in November 2009.
