Government has evacuated former Deputy minister of Energy Lameck Chibombamilimo to India, the Watchdog has been told. Chibombamilimo, the MMD MP for Mpulungu, has been bed-ridden  for the past three months at his Kabulonga residence in Lusaka. Canada's First Quantum Minerals will suspend production at its Bwana Mkubwa copper processing plant in Zambia in August after running out of raw materials, technical manager Andre Scott said on Wednesday. Zambian mining group, Gemfields reports that its July 2010 rough emerald auction realised sales of $7.5m, the highest auction revenue to date.Per carat prices improved 83% over the last auction of higher quality material held in November 2009.
