Presidential aspirants voice out on fight against corruption

National Movement for Progress (NMP) President Ngandu Magande says there is need for political will if the fight against corruption is to be won as it has posed a great challenge to Zambia’s development.

In a live debate on Muvi TV, Magande said must work and live by the set regulations and be accountable to the voters where necessary.

He said leaders should be individuals of integrity and credibility if the country is to prosper.

Magande pledged to re-introduce the abuse clause in the constitution if his party forms Government after next week’s elections as it will be a deterrent for citizens involved in corruption.

Meanwhile, United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema said it is sad that corruption has become a way of life in the country.

Hichilema described corruption as a thief as it is the reason why there are poor health facilities, dirty water, and poor sanitation in Zambia.

He alleged that recycled leaders are to blame for the rampant corruption in the nation as they are the perpetuators of the vice.

The UPND leader noted that if the fight corruption is to be successful would be offenders must be prosecuted with no reference to state house.

Speaking on the same program, Heritage Party (HP) President Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda charged that the whole nation is crooked so the fight against corruption needs concerted efforts.

Miyanda said it is sad to see Clergymen and Military Personnel being dragged to court for abuse of resources.

He noted that for the first time Zambia has witnessed campaigns with extravagant abuse of resources which is a great source of concern.

Miyanda said there is need for corruption to be fought starting from the top, that is the head of state so that the vice is curbed.

In addition, National Restoration Party (NAREP) Leader Elias Chipimo described corruption as a killer and constraint to national development.

Chipimo said there is need for institutions assigned to fight corruption to work independently without Government interference to allow for accountability and transparency.

He noted that a truth and reconciliation commission must be set up so that individuals guilty of corrupt practices can be questioned to help come up with resolutions of recovering the misappropriated funds.

Chipimo pledged that NAREP will re-introduce section 36 of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Act as it will prevent individuals in public office from abusing tax payer’s money.

  4. Dora Siliya’s Ex-Husband Hits Back….”I Divorced Her Because of Bed-Wetting, Adulterly, Lack of Respect, Drunkenness”
    0digg
Dora – right in the picture
MMD Spokesperson, Dora Siliya’s ex-husband Chisha Folotiya has hit back over remarks Dora made that he was lazy in bed.
Mr Folotiya, a Lusaka businessman and former Mondo Music CEO revealed and claimed in a press conference held in Lusaka that it is him who divorced Siliya and not the other way round.
He cited the reasons for their divorce as rampant bed-wetting, adultery, lack of respect and her bad beer drinking habits (Drunkenness) she had.
Mr Folotiya further disclosed that he is happily married to a beautiful wife and has lovely kids.
The MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya on thursday last week revealed to Petauke residents that she divorced her ex-husband because he was not man enough and that he was lazy in bed.
And Siliya also urged men in Petauke Central Constituency to admire her beauty and soft bums and not each others beards because the laws of Zambia prohibit homosexuality.
Dora Siliya’s continued urge for men to admire her bums on Friday last week inspired Petauke’s Chisonso villagers who asked to touch her breasts as well.
Siliya continued her onslaught on PF leader Micheal Sata, this time describing him as a disrespectful old man who did not come from human beings.
Chisha Folotiya and Dora once had a splash Porsche wedding in Lusaka in 2002 but their marriage barely lasted.
Chisha Folotiya was rumored to be going out with one of the Shatel girls at that time in 2002 – Barbara and Saboi – and that was rumored to be one of the making reason their marriage break up.

  5. WARNING TO ZAMBIANS AND PF.LUAPULA SHOULD BE MONITORED AND NORTHEN.

IREEN MAMBILIMA CAN”T BE TRUSTED.SHE IS HELPING RB WHERE TO RIG ELECTIONS.SHE HAS STARTED DELAYS TO MAKE SURE PRE_MARKED RB

BALLOTS REACH SOME PLACES.SHE IS THE ONE WHO EVEN CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO STOP CAMPAIGNING 2 DAYS BEFORE THAT IS SUNDAY
06.00hrs TO FACILITATE RIGGING TACTICS.RB WILL HAVE TIME TO THREATEN OP OFFICIALS TO CARRY THE EXCIRCISE.SHE IS VERY EVIL

WOMAN WITHOUT A HEART FOR PEOPLE.PLICILLA ISAAC IS VERY CORRUPT WOMAN ALSO.THESE TWO WOMEN WILL FACE CRIMES OF HUMINITY AFTER
20TH SEPTEMBER.WE WON’T LET THEM USE OP AGAINST OUR PEOPLE.MOST OF US ARE NOT IN SUPPORT OF RIGGING.WE”LL EXPOSE THEM AND

PEOPLE WILL SEE.WE KNOW WHAT WE”LL DO TO STOP MAMBILIMA AND RB.NO MATTER HOW MUCH WILL BE GIVEN WE’LL DO THEM DON”T

KUBEBA.WE CAN”T SUPPORT THE CORRUPTION OF MMD AND SELLING OF RESOURCES AS IF WE ARE FOREIGNERS.FUTURE OF MY CHILDREN COMES

FIRST THAN MONEY.ALL INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED ONLINE SO THAT EVERY ZAMBIAN CAN READ.THEY THINK ZANBIANS ARE STILL STUPID

AND DIVIDED BECAUSE IREEN IS SAYING UPND WANTS SATA TO LOSE THREFORE NO VIOLENCE WILL BE THERE EVEN IF WE RIG.UPND WILL BE

HAPPY AND FIRST OPPOSITION TO SAY ELECTIONS WERE FREE AND FAIR THROUGH KAPITA OR HH.SO THEY ARE WORKING ON HOW TO MAKE A DEAL

DONE.BUT THEY CAN BE STOPPED IF ZAMBIA WANT CHANGE.

People of Zambia inform all villagers in Zambia.Things in rulal areas are bad.MMD is taking billions of kwacha in rulal areas

to corrupt the monitors ,polling station agents, voters and chiefs.RB is indeed desparete to remain in power. So far MMD is

trying to get the details of villagers through chiefs and headmen. The headmen have registers of the residents. They are saying

if u vote for opposition the army will kill u.The names are already in computers and the president knows your

names.Illiterate is killing mother Zambia indeed.People who have phones, inform the rulal dwellers before they sell our

beloved country due to ignorance.Who should help our villagers in rulal areas about this?In kawambwa district things are bad

for the poor people.Others are even being frightened to be chased from the village if they vote for PF.Chiefs like Mwata

Kazembe have received millions for this excircise.what a shame to the people who love money instead of the country.Zambians

what is wrong with us?God help Zambian people coz selfish leaders are killing our country.Katumbi(congolese in luapula will

be used to transport pre-marked RB ballots from congo thru chembe,Chief kashiba area(kasenga). In Nchelenge,Ben mwila will use

mulenga(island in congo) to rig.The use islands of nchelenge should be monitored that is kilwa, kanakashi, isokwe.in Chiengi

congo border mpweto should be monitored. These areas should be monitored properly.if possible let PF officials travel to

luapula especially in kawambwa, mwansabobwe and nchelenge to stop riging.MMD can’t win there but will try to reduce the

number.Mr.sakeni should do something in luapula as soon as possible before 20th.Let him use his intelligence to stop MMD in

the area to rig.mwense, chembe should be also monitored. The areas above are targeted by MMD.people don’t like MMD in luapula

but get suprised how MMD manage to get votes from there. If luapula votes are properly monitored, MMD will get less than 15% of votes in the area.

    What MMD/ECZ planning

1.Monitors and polling agents in villages have been promised to be given 20 million cash each if they all change votes for

RB.They are even signing to make the deal done in advance.
2.Voters will be given for instance 100 thousand kwacha before voting in villages.Telling them if u get the money yo name

will be taken and u should vote for MMD if u want to live.If u refuse which mean u’re an opposition member.
3.MMD with callaboration with ECZ have already employed monitors to favor MMD in rulal areas. In most cases these people will

be MMD cadres and will be carrying milllions with them. Some people have sent to luapula from lusaka to do the manupulations.

    Solutions

1.Send principled people to rulal areas before elections to educate them about what going on.Coz most villagers don’t know

the reality. They just vote and leave the polling stations to ECZ crooks. Please inform yo MPS to tell People to sleep on

polling stations.Let them give you polling stations in each constituency so that Pf leaders could find people to conduct PVT

    and monitors.
2.Monitors should be genuine members of the party and use genuine indepedent monitors coz RB is offering big money for this

    elections.
3.cathorics and other churchess should be used in places such western(shangombo, sikongo),North western, eatersn and parts of

central such kapiri, serenge, nkushi).Luapula (chiengi, kawambwa, chembe and milenge).in Eastern pf should be careful in each

constinuencey. In southern UPND and MMD are working together to make sure PF leader get zero votes from there.pF should

monitor southern province votes very carefully.HH is really corrupt chap.I didn’t know that the young man is can be so.
4.counting of votes sould start from the strong holds of PF.Ecz is using this method so that they can manupulate the votes

of PF in order MMD to win.IN 2001 MMD started with southern, western and north western to encounter the UPND under Mazoka. It

lasted with luapula and northen.2006 MMD started with Lk,luapula,cb and some parts of northern leaving namwangas

(isoka, mbala, nakonde) areas and lasted with western, northwestern, eastern and parts of western in order to manupulate the

votes.PF should warn ECZ to start also with eastern and north western instead of luapula and northen.
5.PVT should be conducted in each polling station withou intimidation.
6.Intanational monitors should be send also into rural areas. In lusaka and cb people will monitor the elections very
well.Thse EU monitors should go to rural areas such shangombo, kaputa, mbala etc but can’t be trusted coz lack of understanding of Zambain pilitics.

  11. GOOD GOVERNANCE ISSUES
In 2001, Zambia held tripartite elections to elect the President, 150 Members of Parliament and Councilors. Among the front runners where Anderson Kambela Mazoka of the United Party for National Development (UPND) and Levy Patrick Mwanawasa of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD).

Mr. Mazoka’s campaign message was built around prudent economic management while Mr. Mwanawasa campaigned on the platform of continuity with change.

After the elections, Levy Patrick Mwanawasa emerged victorious in a controversial election which culminated into an election petition in the Supreme Court. Mwanawasa was sworn in as Zambia’s Third President. Through out his tenure of office, it become clear that Levy had bought into Mazoka’s message of prudent economic management and his holistic approach to fighting corruption.

Mwanawasa started to rigorously implement UPND’s policies away from the policies that saw him in Office. However the replication of the policies were conducted with some element of modification. For example, Mwanawasa rolled out a free Education policy from grade one to seven where as in Mazoka’s case Free Education was to be offered through out to University level. Mr. Mwanawasa went further to help himself with a variety of the UPND Manifesto benchmarks that saw him reduce inflation and interest rates and enabled him to fight corruption including introducing fiscal discipline in the public service. However, he lucked a tight mechanism to spread benefits to the poor through sectors such as health, education and infrastructure development. The poor got more poorer leading to a full blown rejection of the MMD along the line of rail to the UPND and PF.

Zambia’s debt relief gains under the A huge gap between the rich and the poor still exists and yet Mwanawasa was very committed to developing Zambia even if it meant borrowing policies and Members of Parliament from opposition political parties.
Clearly Dr. Mwanawasa will be remembered for fighting against the looting of the state treasury including thefts by Ministers and Civil Servants. He was a lone soldier in the fight against corruption promoting the rule of law rather than of men. It is no wonder the MMD Ministers got busy awarding themselves huge salaries and allowances when Mwanawasa was in hospital instead of praying for his full recovery. Seeing how the MMD have conducted themselves during the funeral of our deceased comrade President, one is shocked to see how those who could do just about anything for mwanawasa u-turn against Mwanawasa’s principle and wishes. We shall remember Mwanawasa as a strong leaders who reconciled the nation.
