Given Lubinda is about to be expelled with the full blessing of President Michael Sata. But In his usual hypocritical method, Sata has phoned and assured foreign affairs minister Given Lubinda of protection from all forms of discrimination by fellow party officials state house sources have disclosed.
Sata phoned Lubinda on Sunday 6th January 2013 at exactly 19:40 just after the decision to expel him was made.
But Sata is feeling guilty and is trying to portray himself as a friend of Lubinda. Worse still, Sata and his ‘voicemail’ at State House think they can dupe the Zambian Watchdog and use it as a propaganda outlet.
Sata’ spokeperson George Chellah wrote an email but used fake names to send it to the Watchdog and others. The email which the Watchdog has traced to Chellah’s computer says:
“President Michael Sata is against the intended expulsion of Mr Lubinda later this week; he has assured the Kabwata MP that he is the tourist attraction of the party and that no harm will reach him.” The source said.
Continues Chellah’s email: ‘But state house sources have further revealed that the head of state is under serious pressure to have Mr Lubinda expelled by the PF kabimba led camp.
‘The source has further disclosed that failure to expel Mr Lubinda will send the ruling party into a deep rift of division.
“It’s a double edged sword for the head of state and its giving him constant headaches, the looming divisions will really undermine national development and his capabilities to perform, that’s his main worry.
‘Kabwata Member of parliament Given Lubinda this week faces expulsion for alleged treacherous behaviour thereby undermining government operations’.

Sata wants the kabwata seat to be taken by his son Mulenga Sata. Hired “Foreign Voters” from other constituencies have already registered in thousands to vote for Mulenga Sata through the ongoing voter registration. So no matter how much money and campaigning Lubinda will do, he won’t manage to beat the 1000s that have imported.

Having read about rigging tricks put in place by PF through continued voter registration update at Lusaka showgrounds by ECZ that it is meant for increasing voter numbers in areas where by-elections take place then I can warn you of another one.
REBASING our currency and leaving old money being legal tender for 6 six months is to allow recycling of mopped up old money from Sata cadre boys and girls at Bank of Zambia. This is the money they will use to empower their cadres or is it from rags to riches money in their pockets. It is actually the same recycled money that will be used to buy opposition members and sponsor by-elections for PF to win all of them. Really who is keeping the money being mopped up through commercial banks by Bank Of Zambia… the same PF cadres Gondwe (BOZ Governor) and Bwalya Ng’andu? And opposition parties, NGOs sit in comfort without 24/7 & 365 days watch of how this money is kept till destruction?? What you all know is Commercial banks will not issue old notes to anybody all the way to June 2013 but receive for onward transmission to Bank Of Zambia. 2-3 times recycling of old money will be enough for PF.
Mind you first President KK was not foolish when he gave short time to change money, it was to avoid such scandals or is it corruption. Bob Sichinga accused MMD of printing Trillions of kwacha which he failed to prove but his PF is recycling old currency through their cadres at Bank Of Zambia to make those millions Kwacha rebased. This is likely to increase money supply and disturbilise the economy.
Opposition and NGOs demand a special watchdog to escort this money to an incirnarator.
Analysit - January 7, 2013
14:44
Analyst WALaSA”. this has been my worry and, it giving me headache worse Pf has already laid a blame on mmd that they printed 3trillion of fake money and am informed that is the amount of money in circulation at a given time.
tumba - January 7, 2013
16:53
infact through rebasing, thats where PF will make money, not from corrupt contracts. even the likes of GBM will be paid back the old currency, whatever they financed the PF compaigner
Mulongoti - January 7, 2013
17:05
If this is able to happen, of which Iam sure it is with the kind of people we have in control of the govt and economy, It is a source of concern as it is a recepie for “inflation” and “corruption” in our country. We need to take stock of the management of the old Kwacha’s movement out of the economy. Can BOZ shed light on this concern????
"TRUE ZAMBIAN" - January 7, 2013

Sata is trying to use Chiluba’s style of political dribbling. If you may recall during the third term campaign that Chiluba wanted he used Micheal Sata as a front to campaign for him and fight political opponents.Whilst Chiluba remained quiet at State house to analyse reactions from the public and when he realised that the 3rd term was not popular, he then made a public statement to the nation that he was not interested in the third term campaign
In a similar style Sata is using Kabimba and he will be making statements which are favourable to him in gaining political mileage.

HEMCS is not serious. HEMCS knew the verdict before it was announced. OP informed him. He should have called Given to State House before the verdict was announced to the public. Given Lubinda should have been with Sata when the verdict was announced to show solidarity with him. Such an act would have given Lubinda confidence and protection. This verdict alone should tell Lubinda very few cabinet ministers will work with him. He should just resign as minister and remain an ordinary member of parliament.
