Police refuse to take HH to court, want to move him out of Livingstone
Police in Livingstone have refused to give UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema police bond or to take him to court.
According to Cornelius Mweetwa, the police have said they can’t take Hichilema to court in Livingstone but will have to take him to another town.
He said he was initially supposed to be taken to court at 11 hours where his lawyers were ready to ask for court bail but the police changed the plan.
Mweetwa complained that this sudden change of plans by the police is meant to allow the police to keep Hichilema in jail.

It is a concern that we cannot talk or write like civilized people. These are just politics, there is no need to start insulting each other on an international forum such as this, it just goes to show our caliber as Zambians. If there is injustice there are ways to channel our anger unlike the way some writers were putting it; it shows the immaturity. Am sure the police are doing their jobs, if not so the courts over rules the police they could have raised the voices and ordered the police to adhere to the rule of law. I have all the confidence in our judicial system and believe every man in equal before the law. If HH is innocent, he will come out and if Sata is abusing his powers so or later the law will catch up with him. So please people don’t be emotional but level minded on this matter.

Opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has finally been released on bail after spending a night in custody. The UPND was given a bail of valued K2 million (KR2000).
Earlier UPND supporters and sympathizers thronged the Livingstone High Court to offer solidarity to HH as word went round that he was appearing.
The Police were at pains to control the situation. The Courtroom was fully packed and HH’s supporters waited outside the courtroom and vowed never to leave until their leader was released.

I agree with Justice minister who warned about genocide. Bembas are being highly favoured in this country and this is making other tribes angry. this seemingly deliberate thing of unofficially making Bemba the official language has unfortunately caused a lot of people to start hating Bembas. Go to Zesco, go to the bank(any bank) and just everywhere, the greeting and entire transaction will be in Bemba without caring to ask if you understand. Now this is very very irritating and a lot of people have complained. What has happened to our country?
