STATEMENT BY INFORMATION & PUBLICITY SECRETARY, MR. ALFRED A. K. NDHLOVU, MOVEMENT FOR MULTIPARTY DEMOCRACY (MMD) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The calls for another MMD National Convention have already been adequately answered by MMD leaders at different fora, the last one being that done by Mrs. Faustina Sinyangwe, Chairperson for Women in Development Committee of the MMD. It is not normal for any political party to hold conventions for no apparent reasons. The MMD is at peace with itself and is expecting to hold a National Convention in 2016.
The characters Collins Muntonga and Jackson Phiri who issued calls at ZNBC for the party to hold a convention are hired hands hell bent on causing confusion. Their names do not even appear to be in the bona fide structures of the MMD. They are simply false members, to say the least.
The MMD appeals to the press and news media in general to source news from credible party members instead of political vagabonds. Why cover “useful idiots” instead of leaders such as Members of Parliament and others? Such coverage of news actually cheapens the profession of journalism.

You know for a fact that one of the individuals lives on borrowed money and he probably qualifies as a ‘Heavily Indebted Poor Individual’ (HIPI) which is why he and his friend could not manage to run some airline. “Useful Idiots” indeed.This is the work of over K1billion that was given to these ‘Useful Idiots’ to cause disturbance in the MMD.I don’t know why they can’t just join The Paya Farmer(PF) since they don’t have any party at the moment.For now,whether they like it or not,Dr Mumba is the duly elected MMD President.I concur with Mr Ndjovu,the media houses should consult from the worthy and genuine members of MMD.
