Leader of the MMD Die Hard Youth Wing Bowman Lusambo has reportedly fled.
Meanwhile, police on Monday searched the house of MMD leader Nevers Mumba.
Lusambo is one of the people that expelled MMD National Secretary Richard Kachingwe reported to police on Sunday after he was unceremoniously hounded out of his office.
Lusambo is reportedly trying to cross into Tanzania, according to Watchdog contacts.
On Monday evening in Kapiri Mposhi, Lusambo – wearing grey trousers, a striped long sleeved shirt and a cap jumped onto a Jerazu bus going to Nakonde.
The bus reached Nakonde at 04 hours and Lusambo, like all passengers alighted as the bus only reaches Nakonde.
Other travellers proceeding to Tanzania rushed to the border but Lusambo was not seen at the immigration indicating that he may cross later.
Two of his unidentified friends however crossed the border.
Meanwhile, police on Monday afternoon searched the residence of Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) President Nevers Mumba.
The search was carried out at Dr. Mumba’s residence house number 17C Midleway Kabulonga between 15:00 hours and 17:00 hours.
Lusaka Province Police Chief, Joyce Kasosa confirmed the search at Dr Mumba’s Kabulonga but declined to give any details on what the police were looking for.
“Yes I can confirm that officers went to search the residence of Dr Mumba but I have no further details to give as of now, but I will issue a comprehensive statement once investigations have been concluded but we carried the search,” Ms Kasosa said.
Sources say the police were looking for Lusambo and Scorpion Kadobi.
