Don’t be discouraged by death of members, RB consoles HH

Press Release

PRESIDENT BANDA MOURNS LUANGWA ACCIDENT VICTIMS

LUSAKA, 4th June, 2013His Excellency Rupiah Bwezani Banda, the Fourth President of the Republic of Zambia, has expressed deep sorrow at the death of nine United Party for National Development (UPND) members who perished in a road traffic accident in Luangwa on Sunday night.

The former head of State has also commended all the political parties that have suspended their campaign for the June 20 Luangwa parliamentary by-election, stressing that although death does unify people, politicians should not be waiting for tragedy to unite them.

“As I mourn with those that have lost their beloved in this terrible accident, I wish to implore my fellow Zambians to learn to love one another and unite as members of one big family called Zambia. Why should we be waiting for the arrival of death before showing our humanity? It’s my prayer that we shall continue being united,” says the retired head of State.

President Banda has further advised UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his party leadership against being discouraged by the loss of their members but forge ahead in continuing to contribute to Zambia’s political spectrum which needs the participation of every citizen.

And in a message to the 17 people who were injured in the accident, President Banda has wished them speedy recovery and advised them to seek God’s face as they recuperate.

Bauer sure you must have respect for elders RB could be your grandfather why calling him a condem. Do you know the diffirence between a condemned person and a suspect? Go back to night school then you will understand these simple terms. Please give respect to elders. RB has wisdom.

Condelences HH, family members of the deceases and the UPND. Be strong and believe that God cares. HH is presidential material and we should have been better if we listened in the last general elections. Can you Mr President(HH) remain focused.

You know my fellow Zambians. This how politics is done in our country, that is why I tell you this:Don’t waste your time talking politics when others are enjoying their lives with money without politics. See how this Zambian poor woman became a millionaire just by buying and selling accidented cars, Very interesting idea. Go to accidentedcars.com to see the various methods and companies that she was using accidentedcars.com. A very simple idea but very powerful

You are insane, that is all I can say. Why sentence the former President even when the case is still being heard in the court? After all, what H E Banda has said is the truth and nothing but the truth. Problem is most of your type like politicians who dwell on lies, treachery and cheating.

  8. SADI  June 5, 2013 at 07:33

There is wisdom in RB. Every sentence and word that comes out from his mouth contains wisdom and power. How I wish the statement came from state house.Look at this:

    1. Stressing that although death does unify people polititians should not be waiting for tragedy to unite them
2.I wish to implore my fellow zambians to learn to love one another and unite as members of one BIG family called zambia(Not one tribe only)
3.Zambia’s political spectrum needs the participation of every zambian(Means that we should have freedom of speech and assembly)

THE ENEMY OF MY FRIEND IS MY FRIEND POLITICS in Zambia. We’ve seen this stupidity before with Chiluba & all the nonsense; bring HH into power & Banda is acquitted, Henry Banda comes back, the way Chungu came back & the story continues while people suffer. These Politicians are heartless!!

The ability for a Politician to Shut up is
Rare. No Politician will ever keep quiet if
S/he feels there will be something to gain.
This is the same Rupiah who disparaged Hakainde
Hichilema when he was comfortably perched on
State House. Now he discovers the depth of his
humanity to apologize to UPND at the time of the
Death of his party’s cadres. How unbecoming. This
Is typical of the sicl mentality of the African
Politician today. Wait to be sincere when your
Opponents hold political advantage but castigate
them when in Office. And he hopes to lecture at
Boston University on Good governance with this
shallowness of integrity. What a terrible joke and
insult to Zambia. He should not be given his passport
till he makes a true and genuine apology for his years
    of misrule.

    • Centre Back Of Democracy  June 4, 2013 at 19:49

Unfortunately the truth about Zambia’s recorded History thus far is that this PF government has been the worst misrulers ever. Whatever the PF touches, whatever the PF utters turns into either rubbish or lies. In so many ways the PF have made Kaunda look like an angel. The Pf have made RB look like a saint. Late FTJ looks like an angel because of the rampant PF corruption and lies. Whether one buries their head in the sand or not, the PF government is the worst Zambia has ever voted for. Their Human rights and governance record is such as never been seen before excerpt off course in Zimbabwe.

“In times of sorrow, do not wait for an invitation to lend desirable support to the grieving, but in times of celebration do not step forward uninvited lest you be accused of imposition.” RB has offered his condolences and spiritual support. Based on his tactful approach the bereaved may ask him to play a further role beyond his gesture thus far. What PF has done however is to try and impose themselves using resources that are not even personal, the party’s or private but DMMU’s which is a GRZ institution. Do not force those families and UPND to accept material logistics beyond what they practically need lest they accuse you of believing in the occult. We saw reports of PF cadres perish under unfortunate circumstances in Rufunsa and Livingstone before. I do not recall of other parties imposing themselves in the grieving process that their party chose to take in putting to rest PF’s deceased members. IT IS DISRESPECTFUL TO THE DIGNITY OF THE GRIEVING FOR GOVT TO IMPOSE HELP WHICH INDIRECTLY INSINUATES THAT THE BEREAVED HAVE FAILED TO MOBILIZE LOGISTICS TO GIVE THEIR LOVED ONES A DIGNIFIED BURIAL. Sometimes privacy is the highest esteem you can render to the mourning.

Indeed they have died in their pursuit of democratic tenets. Patrick Ngoma has the blood of 9 Zambians on his greed tainted hands. Patrick Ngoma will forever be haunted by the deaths of 9 democratic Zambians. Just like Howard Sekwila has the blood of Henry Chanda on his hands. We await the next spilling of innocent blood by the blood thirsty causers of by-elections. Taima perhaps? Maybe Siamunene? Let’s wait and see.

You know what folks? I’m not a superstitious guy. People have been speculating the source and the reasons of these deaths especially during the period of by elections. I’m afraid these deaths have more than what meets the eye.
Is there some invisible force that has been unleashed against the Republic because of some spiritual breach of some sort? These horrifying deaths raises more questions than answers.
Something is seriously wrong and both Church leaders and those in Power should seek urgent answers. You can’t have human beings dying like flies day in day out as though human life is cheap. No ways!
