Opinion on President Mugabe’s calling African leaders cowards

By Pastor Paul Wise Lumbu I would like to pass my humble opinion on the speech by Robert Mugabe on his 88th birth anniversary, a speech that was critically condemned by some and appreciated by others. In his speech he calls some African leaders as “coward and sellouts”. Let me quotes some of his statements in [...]

No matter what people say, King Cobra is the torchbearer who is projecting our country into the limelight with regard to democracy. We shall respect but not fear him. If he undermines our intelligence and embraces the stereotypical undemocratic rule that degenerates into abuse of power and authoritarianism, we shall confront him head-on. If he instills fear and treats us like kids, we shall treat him like an abusive dad and avoid him.
If King Cobra’s PF models after ZANU-PF it will do so at its own peril. And if he joins existing African dictators and attempts to rule eternally, his legacy will be blemished for eternity. We rejected KK and FTJ. We have the stomach to do it again. Moreover, dictatorship is becoming a very dangerous preoccupation nowadays.

His role is on the pulpit and not in investigating crime. He was trained to preach and not to record warn and caution statements like security agents trained in policing duties. Let him concentrate on his role as a preacher man. If he feels, he is in a wrong profession, let him resign and join police so that he can be investigating crime well.
The reason why we want Fr Luonde to stop meddling in matter before investigation is self evident since it is in the widest possible interest of the public and the nation as a whole that the machinery put in place for the prevention, and detection of crimes and the prosecution of offenders should not be undermined. His continued making speculative statements on this matter under investigation have the capacity of undermining the course of justice.
We wonder what his interest is in the matter of former President Rupiah Banda’s son Henry.

Some other corrupt practices seen during this period of interviews was that the male interviewers driving a dark jeep car was also seen in the evenings with some some ladies who were interviewees. We wonder where the fairness lies especially when an interviewer who is a man is found to be close with a lady interviewee in the evening. What exactly were these people doing with these ladies? Where were they going or coming from with them? This is a common sense, a rat cannot be with a cat in the same cardbox because one of them will be eaten.
