Over K2 billion non-rebased currency is reportedly missing in Zanaco and management are currently carrying out extensive investigations.

Sources in the bank revealed that the cash is suspected to have been stolen on the eve of the currency re-basing but the bank would want to down-play the issue and remain secretive.

Zanaco is one of the banks that had serious challenges activating their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) soon after currency re-basing.
