Kabwe cop shoots neighbour’s wife, commits suicide

A Kabwe Policeman from the Protective unit has shot his neighbour cop’s wife and later turned the AK 47 rifle that was loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition on himself, his body is lying at Kabwe General hospital mortuary but the shot victim did not die and is said to be in a stable condition at Kabwe mine hospital, where she is being treated for gunshot wounds.
According to sources from the police, the cop who has been named as constable Stephen Mwila, who was staying at water affairs police settlement  is alleged to have been having quarrels with his friend and neighbour identified as Sinkemba which at one time made them be summoned by higher offices.
The fatal incident happened on Sunday around 16:00hrs after Mwila is alleged to have picked up a quarrel with Sinkemba’s wife after which he picked up the gun and shot Mrs Sinkemba in the chest and thought he had killed her after she fell and started bleeding.
Seeing the magnitude of the offence he had committed, Mwila went under  a mango tree and called his young relative and there after shot himself in the head and died instantly. Only 15 rounds of ammunition were found in the gun after the incident.
