Expelled MMD national Secretary Richard Kachingwe has reported party president Nevers Mumba to police for assault.
And, under the orders of president Michael Sata, the police have deployed armed officers at Kachingwe’ house in Marshlands to provide him with a 24 hours protection.
Kchingwe has also reported Die Hard coordinator Bowman Lusambo, MMD youth chairman Watson Mtonga, Chiwele Maimisa and Scorpion Kadobi to the central police for assault.
On Saturday, Kachingwe was hounded out of his office at the party secretariat by unknown people after he single-handendly attempted to nullify the election of Nevers Mumba as MMD president.
Kachingwe is said to be working with State House and Registrar of Societies Clement Andeleki to destabilise the opposition.
Kachingwe whose children are employed as diplomats by Sata has been visiting state House for unknown agendas.
But typical of a hired gun, Kachingwe told journalists at his residence on Saturday after being hounded out of office that he stood firm on what he announced in the morning that Dr. Nevers Mumba was no longer the party president and further said that Dr. Mumba has no right to ban him from the secretariat.
He said that it was very unfortunate that Dr. Mumba, being a pastor had chosen to live on lies by holding on to two positions of different political parties.
Major Kachingwe challenged Dr. Mumba to prove himself right over the allegation leveled against him. Major Kachingwe also warned Dr. Mumba not take the members of the party, whom he found, for granted.
He said that it was funny how Dr. Mumba wanted to take over the operations of the party at once when he was not there when the party was struggling to find itself in its current state.
But the Watchdog has been informed that all NEC members of MMD except two are solidly behind Nevers Mumba.
