Nine bye-elections looming as Sata tells MMD MPs to resign

President Michael Sata has told MMD MPs who are serving as under minister in his regime to quit the MMD.

Sata met Keith Mukata for Chilanga, Richard Taima for Solwezi East, Josephine Limata, for Luampa, Patrick Chikusu for Katuba, David Phiri for Mkaika, Nicholas Banda for Kapoche, Elijah Muchima for Mwinilunga West, Patrick Ngoma for Feira and Forrie Tembo  for Nyimba.

The meeting was at State House and also in attendance was Stephen Masumba the new MP for Mufumbwe.

In the meeting, Sata told the MPS that they should resign now that Masumba has won the elction under PF. He assured them that they will all be adopted by PF.

George Chellah, Sata’s mouth-piece released a statement where he said a lot of stuff about development and related rhetoric.

But he also said that:

“During the meeting, the parliamentarians pledged their loyalty and support to the PF Government under the guidance of President Sata in working towards developing the country.’

So what about George (Nyimba DC)Makiloni Phiri for people in the remote villages don’t know their MP; what will happen with him Mr. Chella? By the way; both George and Hon. Tembo are a late down to the people of Nyimba. For example; Hon. Tembo does not see that Nyimba faces more challenges today more than that of recreation and staying fit (soccer) where he channels efforts.

Sought the issues of Clean water and solve the permanently, by cleaning up Chikuyu dam; finishing the works on the Nyimba river dam, or probably relocating it down to a place after the hospital to support the expansion of the oldest District (1986) but yet without a number of key District offices like District Police even if the police station is right opposite his office; be reminded that we need an officer in charge and much more a District office for police.

There is no serviceable bole holes for clean drinking water, health facilities, security officers all key for sustainable development in my home village and in a number of areas I have visited yet we have you as representatives busy enjoying your privileges.

I remember the days of late Zilole Pembele Mumba; Kolobeka Kalunga (even this physically challenged son of Nyimba gave us hummer mills and a bus stop shelter – yet we proved that we would elected the blind to parliament: VIVA Nyimba). The man worked better than you the able bodied. The services of late His Royal Highness Chief Ndake; Mr. Chembe Nyangu – we need to raise to the association and bring issues to Manda Hill.

It is not about resigning but about delivering. Mind you Nyimba is not short of brains – we are watching you very closely and know for example that Mr. Phiri (DC) has been PF District Chair, as a qualification to that office – a good young man BUT what could be the long term repercussions for the development of Nyimba?

Sorry I did not mean to get this far, but more when provoked.

    I rest my case.

The only issue to be looked at is the manner of the MMD MPs. How did they even go to a meeting with Sata…what did they think the agenda was?.If they went to the meeting knowing fully well what the agenda was, then at that point, they are gone. They are enticed by good living (who is not? lol) but we expect people that we vote into office to be above reproach and to do the right thing. but now are they are thinking with their bellys or do they think the leadership of MMD is not up to the task to be in opposition?

Dr Mumba your camp is on fire and you need to find the wisdom of God to put it out. Why are ELECTED members looking at the alternative to leave? If they won seats in the heat of a revolution, they are people to have around you..Why are they looking elsewhere for leadership? Whats wrong with your leadership?…

Recently the manner in which you have handled things leaves much to be desired. We pray that you can inspire this nation with a leadership and wisdom that comes from God.

You CANNOT play dirty just because you expect the other camp to play dirty, then wheres the distinction between a Christian in politics and them?. “Fight for fight” as you put it …..is not wisdom from God..it cannot be, no matter how you sugar coat it. Our weapons are not carnal or are they now? God forbid.

When Jesus asked the madman as he cast the demons out of him…Who are you? they replied we are legion,..we have always interpreted that only as many BUT look again…. legion in other words also means “regiment” “organised” even by Jesus’ command they opted to remain in that region…to continue tormenting people …..and unfortunately that cohesion is what we do not see in the camp of the Faithful. You are in the forefront and yes you get hit first but to inspire us is to show us how you weather and react to it.

Jesus taught us many things…in fact ALL things pertaining to life and Godliness BUT quite frankly with the way things are going we have left that path by a long stretch!

We…I trust you can hear from God and be a leader he would want you to be, but quite frankly you have lost it. Its time for battle …the best way we know how….on your knees, on ours too. You know salvation can only come from God at this point, for ourselves FIRST then for this nation it begins with us….we cannot give what we don’t have. Its plain..even blind people are writing on this space ridiculing a servant of God, why? because they are “seeing” nothing tangible…Let us Pray.

We have said it long time that SATA can not run this country. He is the waste president zambia had in recent years. Calling others as tribal when promoting your relatives is called what….? we know PF have jelous of HH’s riches. we have seen all Bembas criminals have been freed and appointed positions in PF government simply because they are Bembas. He is now firing Military personels. He does not understand what he is doing because these army officers will have another army outside state controlled one..!! This is what you wanted zambians…!!

I see how even the learned can be severely eroded of their core responsibility of ensuring the future of mother Zambia is secure. Why not stand together and bring to pass the dream of a sovereign state.

We in UPND have made ourselves clear.we are going to fight hard to make sure Sata does not take this nation to one party state.if we fought for the independence the serpent is enjoying wat will stop us from his bad ideas.idiot cobra.

@awaiting..why should the issue of HH arise in your stupid arguments, HH loses nothing even if he is not president. He has alot of money and does not depend on taxpayers money like your boss. How do you know mayb HH joined politics to entertain himself with his cash since he hs nuts more to crave for.

WHO IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE CONDEMNED IN THIS CASE:
    1. THE MPS FOR ACCEPTING GRZ APPOINTMENTS?
    2. THE PF FOR ATTRACTING OPPOSITION MPS INTO GRZ?
    3. THE OPPOSITION FOR FIRING THE MPS?
    4. THE MPS IF THEY RESIGN FROM THE OPPOSITION?
    5. THE CONSTITUTION FOR ALLOWING THIS SCENARIO?

IN ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS YOU MUST BEAR IN MIND THE FOLLOWING:
    – ANY MP HAS THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REJECT GRZ APPOINTMENT.
    – PF HAS THE RIGHT TO INCREASE ITS NUMBERS OF MPS JUST AS ANY PARTY
    – IT IS NOT THE DUTY OF SATA TO KEEP THE OPPOSITION INTACT.
    – THE OPPOSITION HAS THE RIGHT TO FIRE ITS ERRING MPS.
    – ANY MP HAS THE RIGHT TO RESIGN FROM ONE PARTY AND

It is the Zambian constitution and system. Succesive governments don’t want to temper with such provision that waste tax payers money and also renders the opposition less vibrant to provide the checks and balances. Why do you think in the US there are no such crossovers or in South Africa there is a period when cross overs are allowed? Simply said it is due to our politics of the belly that successive governments do not want to change as it suites them once in power.

      • Wasted5Years  November 13, 2012 at 09:50

Or better still it is the “black incompetence” or “black people’s dullness” or black people’s uncivilisation/ disorganisation or inability to learn, improve and develop white people rightly refer to with respect to our leaders.

  15. pastor Amon  November 13, 2012 at 08:01

my advice to Dr nevers Mumba is not to fire them but let them reign on there on so that zambians can judqe and see who speaks the truth.

      I agreee. Sad development

  19. DCS  November 13, 2012 at 07:45

Through by -elections Pf will promote violence and kill each other among themselves and later accuse the oppositions and arrest them, Zambians be carefull, this big man is managing our country. Late these MMD MPs join Former MMD party Membership because they will speak the same language of once MMD member. The same language and action of MMD of 1991-2001 and 2001-2011 will continue in our country. MMD people who are accused of stealling money by Sata are the same people who are given work in government.
He just want to use them in parliamnt to have all his bills which are against the constitution to pass through. In LUSAKA whatever wrong Sata is doing it is not condemned because they love him so much as we did to Chiluba from 1991-1996.

    aaa. where is my comment?

  21. dudu  November 13, 2012 at 07:42

Two things. I see Mr Chipimo looking for the position of Vp in the PF,There is no doubt no one is capable of taking up that position when the white zambian dies,-from within PF, iam not wishing him to die ,but he is old and very active and chipimo has been twice seen or more times on his side.I read about in-fighting inside PF.
The mistakes that the president is daily comiting are scaring on his side and the family, to keep the chair he has to have more children regardless from one wife or outside.Hey how may childern has the president biologically fathered? Can some one educate me.I hope i have not insulted any body on tribal lines.

    • Shrek!  November 13, 2012 at 09:27

Mr. Chipimo has made it clear that the only job he can accept is that of President. Post of Vice President is merely ceremonial. Mr. Chipimo stance is to offer constructive criticism. I am sure if HH had won the last elections, all his supporters would have wanted constructive criticism to be offered to UPND. Its time Zambia moved away from dirty politics of the Sata era. You can’t beat Sata at this name calling game since we all know just how foul mouthed and uncouth he can be

The problem is with us the electorates, we dont seem to be willing to upheld democracy instead we promote demon-class.

  24. Southern watchman  November 13, 2012 at 07:05

IS CNP NORMAL? I ASK THIS BECAUSE HE IS THE SAME PERSON WHO WHEN IN OPPOSITION, EXPELLED HIS MP’S FOR SERVING UNDER THE RB ADMINISTRATION AND CALLED THEM REBEL MP’S. THE SERPENT IS THE SAME NOW AS IT WAS IN EDEN WHEN IT DECEIVED EVE. SATANIC ACTIVITIES HAVE INCREASED EVER SINCE HE WON. BYE ELECTIONS ARE ALWAYS IN BILLIONS AND THIS CNP CHAP WANTS THE COUNTRY TO SPEND BILLIONS AGAIN INSTEAD OF CHANNELING THAT MONEY INTO DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS. IS THIS THE MEANING OF MORE MONEY INTO PEOPLE’S POCKETS WHICH HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN PREACHING? IS THIS WHAT HE MEANT WHEN HE SAID RESOURCES WILL BE USED TO BETTER THE ECONOMY? THE CORRECT THING CNP SHOULD DO IF HE WANTS TO WORK WITH OPPOSITION MP’S IS TO SIT DOWN WITH PARTY PRESIDENTS AND ASK THEM TO ALLOW THEIR MP’S TO WORK WITH HIS GOVT IF HE WANTS AN INCLUSIVE GOVT…THAT IS WHAT SHOULD BE DONE IN ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY.

    • KK  November 13, 2012 at 07:28

THE PF LEADER IS NOT CONSISTANCE.SOMEONE WHO IS NOT CONSISTANCE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.

REMEMBER, PROMISES ON THE BA AGREEMENT, THE PUBLIC ORDER ACT, FOLLOWING THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, THE FIGHT AGST’ CORRUPTION, USING A PUBLIC MINI BUS IN LIVINSTONE TO CUT GOVT’ EXPENDITURE ETC ETC ETC

@mulendema :please don’t induce bye-elections as they add no value to me -a common man .That is a sheer waste of govt resouces at their peak. Are you aware that most govt departments were NOT funded in October by Ministry of Finance, because of Mufumbwe saga. Most retired civil servants who retired more than 12 months ago have not been paid yet, because of recent Bye Elections. We lost an innocent life in Rufunsa because of Bye elections. No man ! We don’t need these useless and NO-VALUE Bye elections because they are wasteful. You saw how many govt ministers camped in Mufumbwe almost one month with disguised /fake number plates on their GRZ vehicles ;plus thousands of litres of fuel and billions of kwacha for their pedium.Eeh eesh Animal Farm policies at their best indeed. We need food and Jobs;and not Bye Elections where the “PIGs and their minions”in the Animal Farm loot govt coffers systematically.I rest my case.

    • Soma  November 13, 2012 at 07:16

The bye elections are indirectly being induced by PF. MMD has, as a matter of intergrity, no choice but to expel them.

      • Chisenga  November 13, 2012 at 08:05

DONT YOU THINK THAT BYE ELECTIONS ARE SOMETIMES GOOD IN ORDER TO PUT PEOPLE LIKE HH WHERE THEY BELONG. THEY THINK THEY WILL WIN 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS WHEN ON THE GROUND THEY ARE ACTUALLY DIMINISHING?
