Northwestern not represented in PF cabinet – MP

Solwezi west Member of Parliament Humphrey Mwanza is sad that the Patriotic Front government has not appointed anyone  from North-western Province to full cabinet position.

Mwanza said it is critical that the province is represented in Cabinet because most developmental discussions are done by the Cabinet.

He said ever since independence, each province has had at least someone in the Cabinet.

“North-western province is generally calm but we are not comfortable because we feel the PF government has neglected the province because we do not have a full cabinet minister”, he said.

Mr Mwanza said this in a verbal statement issued to Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Solwezi today.

Mr Mwanza said it is for this reason that the province proposed a federal state during the Provincial Constitution Convention because under a federal state system such issues will be enshrined.

President Michael Sata has been poaching MPs from the opposition in Northwestern province but just gives them deputy minister positions. Before he became president, Sata was fond of saying people from Nortwestern are only fit to work as toilet cleaners.
