The ruling PF government has fired the District Commissioner for Lukulu District for refusing to bribe voters with more than 2000 bags of maize that were sent to the area.

Sources within the PF say the ruling party recently sent about 2000 bags of maize to the area for bribing voters.

But unknown to them, the maize had just been fumigated with poisonous chemicals making it unsuitable for human consumption.

The party leadership in Lusaka under the vice-president’s office Guy Scott, have insisted that the voters be given the same poisonous maize before the 23rd April by-elections.

On refusal, the District Commissioner has since been fired and may now subject the citizens with the maize that has just been fumigated and still highly poisonous.
