Some MMD NEC members including the two vice presidents were this afternoon detained by Zambia police when they went to Lusaka’s Chipata market in Mandevu to mingle with the marketers in the area.

The MMD officials who included vice-president for Administration Michael Kaingu were intercepted by Zambia Police under the now dreaded Public Order Act and were immediately taken to Emmasdale Police station.

But Dr. Kaingu refused to be taken to Emmasdale Police and instead demanded to be taken to Central police.

At Central Police, the officers in charge wondered what was wrong with people mingling with other citizens and immediately released them.
