The cartel holding ailing president Michael Sata hostage plans to arrest former president Rupiah Banda and incarcerate him in a secluded cell where he can be injected with poison, intelligence sources have disclosed.
Last Friday, Banda did not appear before the joint investigations team because his lawyers were aware that the cartel planned to have the former leader arrested and spend nights in cells the whole weekend, hence their decision not to avail their client to the Drug enforcement Commission (DEC) offices.
“They plan to arrest Banda and lock him up in an isolated cell where nobody knows his whereabouts and inject him with poison so that the former president dies. They planned to do this last Friday but Lawyers for the RB were aware of their scheme and so they avoided going to the investigations offices,” said the source.
The source said that they planned to eliminate the former leader because he is a threat to the trio especially in an event that the presidential by-elections were to take place soon following the deteriorating health condition of Sata.
“They think that Sata may not pull through this year and so they want to make sure that RB does not stand anywhere near to the corridors of power. These guys are even determined to kill the former leader,” said that sources.
Former President Banda is on April 4 scheduled to appear before the investigations wings and is likely to face an arrest so as to fulfill the plans of the cartel holding Sata hostage
