Sata phones Lubinda pretending to be on his side, tries to dupe Zambian Watchdog

sataGiven Lubinda is about to be expelled with the full blessing of President Michael Sata. But In his usual hypocritical method, Sata has phoned and assured foreign affairs minister Given Lubinda of protection from all forms of discrimination by fellow party officials state house sources have disclosed.

Sata phoned Lubinda on Sunday 6th January 2013 at exactly 19:40 just after the decision to expel him was made.

But Sata is feeling guilty and is trying to portray himself as a friend of Lubinda. Worse still, Sata and his ‘voicemail’ at State House think they can dupe the Zambian Watchdog and use it as a propaganda outlet.

Sata’ spokeperson George Chellah wrote an email but used fake names to send it to the Watchdog and others. The email which the Watchdog has traced to Chellah’s computer says:

“President Michael Sata is against the intended expulsion of Mr Lubinda later this week; he has assured the Kabwata MP that he is the tourist attraction of the party and that no harm will reach him.” The source said.

Continues Chellah’s email: ‘But state house sources have further revealed that the head of state is under serious pressure to have Mr Lubinda expelled by the PF kabimba led camp.

‘The source has further disclosed that failure to expel Mr Lubinda will send the ruling party into a deep rift of division.

“It’s a double edged sword for the head of state and its giving him constant headaches, the looming divisions will really undermine national development and his capabilities to perform, that’s his main worry.

‘Kabwata Member of parliament Given Lubinda this week faces expulsion for alleged treacherous behaviour thereby undermining government operations’.

Its interesting what the Current dirty politics are being played…This not been a conspiracy or anything but an observation that I have made..
Northern province were the bembas come from has no wealth as such. The central western and southern parts supply Zambia with its wealth..however our Bember friends want the presidency to be secured among bembas…predictably lubinda is a threat hence…..watch who takes Satas place a bemba!!!

  2. trueth kunda  January 9, 2013 at 13:25

Lubinda, a gay, can not be expelled

  3. Mwanangombe Mukupu Wambambi  January 9, 2013 at 10:40

Why are people complainning about Given? Do they realy know what he does when he is alone? H.E Mr Sata is of known charecter, But who is actualy against Given?
Is it a game of “eating the flesh and throwing the bone”? Why throwing your friend when you are now in power? Without any warning for that matter! No verbal warning, No written warning! Why?
Given Dont Reveng, the people have cried foul on your side, GOD has Heard thier voices, GOD will aveng for you for ” Avengence belongs to GOD ONLY”.

Your Excellency, Mr President, please think twice.PF is not govt coz of Kabimba,Masebo and their son, but the dedicated leaders it has, you and Lubinda are a good example.Lose Lubinda, lose 2016.Try firing Kabimba and see if the party will be united.

  5. Scott B  January 8, 2013 at 20:14

All rite thinking and well meaning Zambians know too well the clandestine manuvours orchestrated by Wynter Kabimba to hound Lubinda out of the party so he can remain the sure heir to the throne if and when his uncle Mr Sata decides to retire. When Given was charged he responded why is Wynter not publishing publicly the response and please publicise the information Given leaked to the upnd not talking from without. We’re not school children to be told of things without evidence. Show us the leaked information so we can help u chase him but all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No one is perfet. In the weights of measure Kabimba wud be found more wanting than Lubinda. God help us from this burning fire we thot was better than the frying pan.

  6. mwai  January 8, 2013 at 16:40

am sure he would win as an independent……………

  7. volcano  January 8, 2013 at 14:28

why has it taken so long to publicly announce what Lubinda has done? Don’t wash dirty linen in public. There are too many rumour mills and Kabimba is a champion here who cant be challenged. We are tired of cat and mouse game, cheap politics and witch hunting.

I am kindly asking the head of state to conclude this Lubinda hot pot that Kabimba is cooking before major cracks in PF appear and us the electorate feel cheated and fooled by Lubinda if he did betray his own party, shooting himself in the foot

ALL I AM HEARING IS THAT LUBINDA LEAKED INFORMATION TO THE UPND BUT YOU ARE NOT TELLING AND GIVING US DETAILS OF THE INFORMATION LUBINDA LEAKED TO THE OPPOSITION. PLEASE SUBSTANTIATE YOUR CLAIMS OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE JUST RUMOUR MONGERS WHO ARE PROFESSIONALLY INCOMPETENT.
SPEAK THE TRUTH OTHER THAN MISLEADING THE NATION. I AM SURE EVEN THE HEAD OF ZAMBIA HAS BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN TO DWELL ON RUMOURS .
PLEASE SUBSTANTIATE YOUR CLAIMS WITH DETAILED INFORMATIOM THAT SUGGEST THAT TRUELLY LUBINDA LEAKED THE THE INFOMATION AND WHAT IS THIS INFORMATION ALL ABOUT,GIVE US THE DETAILS OTHER THAN JUST YAPPING LIKE KIDS .WE ARE RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN YOU WASTING THE CITIZENARY`S TIME AND TAX PAYERS MONEY- TIME BUYING .TIME WASTERS.

  11. MM  January 8, 2013 at 10:04

The question is y was Lubinda taking secret info to UPND? What was his intentions? Has he been found guilty? Lubinda what is your motive please say something. you mean you cud not speak to the President on matters that bothered you?

  12. Sungamasha  January 8, 2013 at 09:50

But why should the whole of the president go to Lubinda at the thick of the night to show solidarity with him like Nicodemus did to Jesus? He is president and has powers to overrule the decision of Disciplinary Committee, just shut Kabimba’s mouth up and tell the people Lubinda is not going anywhere.

  13. cheya  January 8, 2013 at 08:49

cud someone surely pinpoint what exactly given lubinda has done wrong. alot of accusations that are not substantiated. the quarrelling goes unchecked in the presence of mr sata, what more the day he will not be there? i shudder to think what wud happen to pf. i dont think they are mature like mmd was. mark my words

  14. ine wine  January 8, 2013 at 08:44

the way i see it, lubinda wont be expelled but after that he will relinquished of his post and any possibilities of him vying for president will be dealt a blow forever, so i think which ever way you look at it, lubinda’s career in the PF is gone. he may resign and re-contest and probably win because of the sympathy vote but after that which party would want to associate with a info leaking member? i think the man was wrong for doing what he did, he should have brought these issues directly rather than using the UPND members who also were not being good to him by revealing what he was doing. the other thing is what makes a man of lubinda’s calibre fail to ask his colleagues directly? the answer is that there is very little if any of intra party critisicm in zambia. any one who dares ask questions about the way a party is being run is a sellout

  15. No Name  January 8, 2013 at 08:08

If Sata was serious about heading this Great Country, by this time 2013 he would have made serious progress. If I look at the progress made by RB in the same period, I can only view Sata as a joker.

  16. Some-Of-Us  January 8, 2013 at 07:59

The only way Sata can save Lubinda, if he is really sincere, is to openly tell Kabimba to shut up. Any private calls and e-mails to the watchdog will be hypocritical.

  17. Some-Of-Us  January 8, 2013 at 07:54

Then why the call and why the fake e-mail?

  18. CHIPS2016HH  January 8, 2013 at 07:46

PF will spend the whole of five years doing stupid things and will never deliver any development for zambia. Blame yourselves you who voted for these thugs.

    • INSIDER  January 8, 2013 at 17:45

      • dont  January 10, 2013 at 00:27

Just spill the beans so that we know the truth and what it is!!!!!

  22. Chipasha  January 8, 2013 at 03:45

The decision to expel a member of the party from its rakns entirely belongs to the organ of the party that deals with disciplinary matters and not the president. So I do not know why it should be found hypocritical to you if in Sata’s view,he still stands behind Lubinda. That is his individual right. He still enjoy the same benefit of a free citizen that you do and wish to have.
In any case, these are party matters and should not be of concern to your publication which is,by no means, friendly to the PF.Criticise them for failures of governance and not for squabbles they face as an organisation.
Do you possess any proof that the accused did not collaborate with the opposition as they claim?

  23. The Eyes of an Eagle up in the sky.  January 8, 2013 at 03:35

To my beloved President Mr Sata and my mbuya you have always preached a govt of inclusiveness and forgiveness. If now you are able to embrace people who insulted you and Pf,ie the likes of Masebo and Namulambe when they were in MMD ;why can’t you forgive Lubinda your own loyal child who fought with you through and through when these others were in the ruling party then.Never ever trust traitors who have just joined you. They will do the same in future when the BOAT starts sinking bwana. The devil you know is the better than the angel you do not know mbuya wandi.Kindly think about it.Lubinda is one of the sharp brains and a force to reckon with in your party mbuya. You will need him one day.People like Chikwanda,Kambwili,Lubinda,Yamfwa Mukanga,Nkandu luo,GBM,John Phiri,Yaluma and to some extent now Edgar Lungu is adapting properly need to be near you Mr President.Cadres are turncoats.when things get bad in future they will abandon you as well.So please don’t dance to their tune;that is if truly that is their tune.Sir even the calibre/composition of the PF national displinary committee( of course excluding Edgar Lungu)is suspect.Do we expect anything good to come from former copy typists ,former drivers/shop stewards in the mines and former old housewives and widows with little education ? What recommendations will such a group make ,apart from hear, hear and yes, yes.Very unfortunate for Lubinda,Lucas and Mangani’s allegedly group to appear before such a committee.I rest my case.

Pf will finish if it expels lubinda

  33. MARK LUNGU  January 7, 2013 at 20:51

As a concerned citizen in Kabwata constituence i stand alert to see what will come out of all these allegations against Lubinda.Twice i personally asked him why he allowed the youth to be deprived of the recreation space for Basketball and Netball at Chilenje Community Centre by a buisness in the name of a mordern Chilenje Shoping Mall,he literally failed or deliberately chose not to give a clear cut answer.Suspicions and speculations arise from unanswered questions.Cases do not rot they always follow the guilty and catches up with them.Soon we will see the outcome. KAJI,Chilenje.

  35. Dear Zambia  January 7, 2013 at 19:35

    Dear Zambia,

We are writing to tell you that we think you are making a huge mistake by letting Mr. Given Lubinda go (if that’s the case). We did not know much about Zambia here in Canada until we saw him make the bunjee jump at the Victoria Falls. Infact he is the reason we did a Communications II presentation on Zambia tourism. He was on BBC, Daily Mail UK, a Youtube sensation and many newspaers around the world. The point is he reassured us tourists about bungee safety in Zambia and making us want to come back and experience it all over again. Is it a bird? Plane? No it’s Zambia’s tourism minister Given Lubinda, is what the headline read on BBC. So please be considerate and don’t let politics ruin a sensible man with better hopes for your country.

    • Mwenda  January 8, 2013 at 14:49

I wish to encourage you to send the same message you sent to us the Zambian people to the Post News Paper,Daily Mail and the Times of Zambia for more publicity and understanding.
We decided,Voted for the current Government,it was OUR decision.
I strongly believe that the people that want Given Lubinda OUT do not respect the Zambian Youth decisions. They’re forgetting that WE’RE THE VOICE OF THE NATION.
And all we want is for Peace and Unity to prevail in our Nation Zambia.

Thank you for sharing your feelings with US.

      M.Mwenda/Concerned Zambian Youth.

    • KING ATASe!  January 8, 2013 at 16:57

Good point but Zambia is full of idiots. A wise man like Hon Lubinda in a land of idiots is a lost cause. Lubinda joined a Party of Fools (PF) and now he is getting the boot.

  36. rule of law  January 7, 2013 at 19:33

PERSONS LIKE LUBINDA NEVER COME TWICE IN A GENERATION LEAVE MY MAN ALONE

  37. Is it genuine?  January 7, 2013 at 19:30

At times I tend to wonder whether it is PF which people hate or it is Sata that people are aginst? Again within PF certain individuals are liked despite being in PF which seem to be disliked by a number of bloggers here. When the PF which we constantly ridicule tries to deal with its erring members again certain quotas feel such individuals should remain within PF despite belonging to a party that they hate.

Why not allow them to deal with their members as they wish. Because I have noticed a lot of support for certain individuals based on their tribal inclination and will not support any other individual who is part of their own. I feel if you are UPND you need to support your party regardless of whether you are kachokwe or whatever you may call yourself. Because I know for sure that if Lubinda was to lead PF probably the whole western province would support PF regardless. Or is it a question of one of our own being seeing as persecuted or a party failing to perform as a whole or our tribe having little or no chance to rule over the affairs of the nation?

People have rushed to blame Kabimba but the Kabimba man has had the blessings of his boss and his boss trust him so much and if not why not discipline Kabimba if the case is otherwise?

Anyway I beg to move mr editor sir
