Sata to succumb to pressure and appoint Referendum Commission
Ailing dictator Michael Sata will soon to appoint a Referendum Commission that will conduct the National Referendum on adopting the Constitution of Zambia, according to information deliberately leaked to the Watchdog by Minister of Justice Wynter Kabimba’s office.’
The Commission will be set up at a time when the Technical Committee has finished holding the National Consultative Forum on the Draft Constitution in Lusaka,’ reads part of the document leaked to the Watchdog.
Continues the document: ‘President Sata is considering appointing Supreme Court Judge Florence Mumba to chair the Referendum Commission while two other members will be Non Governmental Organizations Coordinating Committee (NGOCC) board chairperson Beatrice Grillo and the Young African Leaders Initiative governance advisor Isaac Mwanza.’
According to the document Justice Minister Kabimba said: “the PF still remains committed to fulfill its promise of the referendum as contained in the PF manifesto”.
