Bodies at the scene of the accident

Sixteen people died on the spot while four others have seriously been injured when a Toyota Hiace minibus they were travelling in lost control  after a tyre burst and overturned in the early hours of today along the Great North road, between Chisamaba and Chibombo.

Sources from the scene confirmed to the Zambian Watchdog that the accident happened between 06 and 07:00 hours this morning. “The bus is a Kabwe registered and the driver has been identified as Costa of Makululu compound in Kabwe,” said the source who could not give the fleet and registration number of the vehicle.

The minibus was travelling from Kabwe to Lusaka with 20 passengers on board but after a tyre burst the driver lost control of the vehicle which overturned and killed the sixteen on board while the status of the four others has been described as critical and they have all been evacuated to Lusaka’s University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
The death toll is expected to rise.

Recently another 55 people died on the spot along the same road when a Postbus coach collided with a foreign truck and numerous calls were made for intensified road traffic patrols.

The nation has been experiencing a spate of suspicious fatal road accidents and deaths from the time the PF took power fuelling suspicions PF senior leaders are involved in Satanism and sacrificing Zambians.

Oh Lord my GOD shall we ever know peace. I believe RATSA and the Traffic section of ZP are busy with good patrol vehicles but for GOD’s sake how could they allow a vehicle meant to carry 14 people carry 20? Where there no road blocks on the way?

      The Lord is my shepherd

Over speeding on our roads will finish all the careless and reckless drivers.
Sad indeed that yet again more innocent souls are lost in another bizarre accident in the same area where 56 plus souls where lost in the tragic Zampost mishap.

Judging from the pictures and as a lay person, I would conclude that the the driver could have been driving at a very high speed such that after the tyre burst he could not manage to control the bus.

Finger pointing is not the best as at now but to just reiterate Sata’s rhetoric that RTSA and Zambia police highway patrol must intensify justifiable road patrols and help curb the reckless and dangerous driving especially among the bus and tipper drivers.

Sacrificing people by the SATA-nist may not be true but the devil may take advantage of the recklessness that is on our many damaged roads.

Condolences to the berieved families that have lost their dear loved ones in this road mishap.

People are now dying lyk animals,O why God,Why,this is the tym yu showed your endless, any way anything happens for a reason, may u straithen the affected families in this realy trying hard tyms.MAY ALL SOULS REST IN PEACE……

  9. Euro Bond  April 30, 2013 at 11:05

These Hiace Mini buses must be banned from traveling beyond a radius of 20km forthwith. How can a 14/16 seater carry 20 passengers? How could passengers agree to be loaded like sardins? High way patrol vehicles should always be on the highways unlike now when they merely react…

  10. muntu  April 30, 2013 at 11:05

When you say people are sacrificed, what do you mean? do we have someone sacrificing people in this country? who is it so that we deal with such people? or yet still, doesn’t this just mean it is an accident and I stand to be corrected but this is not the only country where accidents occur and I do not see any point in putting the blame on someone who is at his home and not the one driving the vehicles. let us be objective when we report such matters especially where it involves some families who have lost loved ones, why do you want to cause unrest in this country…we should be praying for the families affected by these accidents and not say sacrificed where we see no evidence of Satanism!

      Sacrifice = victim or loss

  12. Vilifier  April 30, 2013 at 11:03

    THE PF SACRIFICE

I am surprised at how everybody is chosing to misunderstand the ZWD on a simple English term. We seem to have this notion that sacrifice has everything to do with rituals, Satanism, or superstition.

A sacrifice is an act of losing or surrendering something as a penalty for a mistake or fault or failure to perform etc. A sacrifice of course can be in ritual or superstitious forms as well.

The ZWD have reasons to argue that when PF chooses to hold wasteful bye elections at the expense of road safety or better transport systems then sadly many souls are being sacrificed to satisfy these PF selfish interests. When PF spend moneys bribing potential opponents, hiring incompetent people, corrupting and plundering resources then money meant for the well being of people and depleted hence their hardships, illness and death turns into a sacrifice meant for PF well being.

    • Tech Reporter  April 30, 2013 at 11:32

Excellent explanation.! Tel these PF fools to put safety of zambian roads top priority not just Link 8000 roads patch up nonsense.

Indeed as clearly stated ,failure to detect un-roadworthy minibus like this one by RATSA is a sacrifice in itself.

So ZWD ,forget about these good for nothing PF noise makers. They have nothing to offer apart from useless bye-election.

    • Maverick  April 30, 2013 at 12:30

I admire your willingness to spin things, like some highly trained politician… the article itself says, and quote “…PF senior leaders are involved in Satanism…”, or did you miss that?

Apparently your interpretation of the word ’sacrifice’ is very different from the Z_W_D that you are trying to defend… tough love!

You can spin it all you want, perhaps for egotistical reasons, but sacrifice is a noun which according to the internet dictionaries (type ‘define sacrifice’ in Mr G009le) means ‘An act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure’. So please stop misleading people. There are other better words for political incompetence, like negligence, e.g. “some of these accidents are due to negligence”. Again type ‘defines negligence’. Good luck!

      • Vilifier  April 30, 2013 at 13:24

It is ‘Satanic’ ignore the death traps on our roads but bribe opposition MPs and hold needless bye-elections.

    • Inxosana  April 30, 2013 at 12:57

Lol!!!!! From that perspective you’re right. Every subject has it’s own language which can only be understood by it’s ardent followers.

  14. RB  April 30, 2013 at 11:00

Un roadworthy vehicles is the cause of these accidents and not satanism my dear friends.

  15. jay  April 30, 2013 at 10:59

Its really shocking to find that bloggers have turned to inhumane utterances when there is a serious need to pray for the families of the departed and families they have left behind.tulebako serious guys, its better you keep those fingers to yourself if positive contribution is not in is not in your module operandi.Maybe God see us through this trying moments as we mourn with the families left behind.

    Not road-worthy vehicles
RTSA intensifying patrols in places where there are no accidents
In Zambia we largely buy second hand vehicles and some get cleared even when thy are not supposed to (ZRA)
Govt not speeding up the process of a dual carriage way

The families of the deceased need prayers right now.

  25. Amuna Onzuna  April 30, 2013 at 10:45

Imfwa siijailika, this is very very sad!. I think the owners of these buses should make sure that the basic requirement for an inter-city taxi like this one should be met, and this includes tyres. Its a pity!

  26. Corban  April 30, 2013 at 10:43

It be a SACRIFICE or NOT, whatever it is can be solved with just prayers from from every believer, responsible driving from all road users and also having the Traffic Police doing their job correctly.

  27. lucky kaonga  April 30, 2013 at 10:42

many their souls rest in eternal peace, and bless their family

  28. EUSTY .M  April 30, 2013 at 10:41

Instead of sympathizing, you politicize.Tell me the one doing/making the sacrifices. This is so vivid that this accident was as a result of a tyre burst.I always emphasize to you bloggers that SILENCE IS GOLDEN WHEN/IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING POSITIVE TO SAY….ATASE!

    • Miko  April 30, 2013 at 10:44

Its is Sata and his freinds in PF. tell them to stop these satanic practices then there will be no need to sympathise

  29. chitulika  April 30, 2013 at 10:38

it is tyres which pipo feel stingi to buy not the vehicles. you bus operators please ensure you buy new tyres.

  30. phany  April 30, 2013 at 10:35

  32. Kalenga  April 30, 2013 at 10:24

almost everyone on the bus gone…headless bodies picked! is this just an natural accident or there is something fishy? I am almost believing the ZWD use of sacrifices going on in our country, especially with a sick president who is buying life.

  33. Posapo  April 30, 2013 at 10:23

Sounds like careless driving and the vehicle was un roadworthy. The police cannot be on accident spot immediately due to the distance from the nearest police post.May their souls rest in peace.

  34. Masheka Emmanuel  April 30, 2013 at 10:17

Please…where are we heading to….Please let us pray for our mother zambia and how can we celebrate our labour day like this when the nation is losing men and women who have worked for mother Zambia. The Children our futher leaders…we need proper prayers for this great nation Zambia.

  38. Mbinji Mufalo  April 30, 2013 at 10:12

Please ZWD, I believed it is time you started rationalising your use of the word “sacrificed” whenever there is a road traffic accident or when people die in unclear circumstances. In your opinion, exactly who is sacrificing who, and to what end? What evidence do you have that these deaths (which have always occurred in the past anyway) are sacrifices?
    Thank you.

    • Miko  April 30, 2013 at 10:45

These are pf sacrifices. Dont blame the messenger. Are you one of them sacrificing? why are you panicking?

      • GM  April 30, 2013 at 11:17

Miko, you havent answered Mbinji’s question. Please atleast TRY to be rational in your thoughts.

Someone has just identified a business opportunity right here on the blog. We need private paramedics and ambulances in Zambia, don’t we ???

  40. Kalikeka  April 30, 2013 at 10:11

How safe are these Japanese vehicles ??

  41. Kalikeka  April 30, 2013 at 10:10

The safety of these Japanese vehicles must be re-looked at ! Do they undergo safety inspections after they are brought into the country ??? What is the function of this RTSA Kanshi?? What do they do on a daily basis, if not to get unsafe vehicles of the roads ???? Get back to your real jobs you traffic cops, instead of making a quick buck stoping law-abiding road users !!!! DO YOU JOBS NOW COZ ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!!

    • kelly  April 30, 2013 at 10:50

DEAR IF YOU HAVE BEEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR A LONG TIME THEN WE CAN FORGIVE YOU. NO VEHICLE THESE DAYS IS EVEN PAID ROAD TAX FOR WITHOUT A ROAD WORTH CERTIFICATE AND THAT CERTIFICATE INCLUDES MINIMUM THIRD PARTY INSURANCE. ALL VEHICLES ARE INSPECTED AND ITS EVEN MORE STRICT FOR PUBLIC VEHICLES. THERE MORE THAN FOUR ROAD TO FIVE ROAD BLOCKS OF POLICE OFFICERS CHECKING PHYSICALLY ALL PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM LUSAKA TO NDOLA ALONE PLUS ABOUT THREE RATSA CHECK POINTS ALONG LUSAKA NDOLA ROAD DAY AND NIGHT. I JUST TRAVELED TO LUSAKA FROM CHINGOLA LAST WEEK AND IT WAS BAD, THEY WERE ALL OVER. THE POLICE ARE NOT TO BLEM FOR THESE ACCIDENTS AND DEFINITELY NOT OUR VEHICLES. SOMETHING IS AMIS SOMEWHERE. TUBELESS TIRES DO NOT BUST, THEY JUST RELEASE AIR AT A RATE THAT IS HIGH IN A BAD CASE LIKE THIS ONE AND A VEHICLE MUST BE ABLE TO STOP ON ITS OWN IF YOU DO NOT APPLY BREAKS IN AN EMERGENCY WAY. HOW COME ITS ALMOST THE SAME STRETCH OF THE ROAD WHERE THE SAME ACCIDENTS ARE HAPPENING?

    • NIL  April 30, 2013 at 10:52

which rtsa, because for tires even the owner of the vehicle and the driver should know that life is not found on the market, the rtsa guys are trying their best but the people do not want to follow,if you find out properly, the driver must have running away from the rtsa to be caught thats why he opted to move early before road brokes to start

  42. Mouth Diarrhoea  April 30, 2013 at 10:10

Do we have paramedics in zambia?? In the photo I don’t see any and no traffic cops visible only villagers. That’s why they steal from the dead.

      Mwana wa nkumba iwe!

  45. Mouth Diarrhoea  April 30, 2013 at 10:07

As usual the idiots in government cheated people by saying that on Feb 28, the contractor will move on site and start constructing the dual carriage way. They also said during the funeral of the 50 post bus victims that RATSA will increase patrols on the same road. Two months later, nothing has happened.

God our almighty father help us mourn our beloved brothers and sisters in peace and respect. You are the only one who knows the secrets behind death and why it happens in different ways.

Help those who politise death so that one day they’ll understand that death is the only way to heaven and all we are faced by it. Help them to understand the meaning of death which Jesus our messiah suffered on the holy cross.

We ask all this in the precious name JESUS!!!!!
