  2. Viva hon.kambwili, you are a hardworking person and people are jealous of your success.Even in that new minstry i ve every reason to believe that you would deliver to the expectation of your haters. Those jobs of ministers does not require experience but you fitted well in that foreign minitry.Regardless of where you worked us other haters are saying your have achieved what they would never achieve in their remaing years to live on earth. My last massage is be brave, exhibit your usual courage and offer yourself to the masses who need your services. To the haters you are choked with envy.

  4. At last Sata has seen sense in moving this Kaponya man. Honestly, how can you give such a sensitive ministry to a man who has no diplomatic etiquete. Someone who is uncouth. He does not know how to tame his tame. He has a typical cadre mentality

  5. thi is a positive move by MCS. Lubinda is more diplomatic than Kambwili he’ll represent Zambia well though i would have loved him to stay till the FOI bill goes through. i thought Fackson was well placed with labour issues but its clear that this man is too old now and has lamentably failed! not anyone assignment has he fullfilled so far…minimum wage for example.he deserves not ot be shifted but retired! .talkative chaps like kambwili are best placed in labours issues cos we’ll see how he will champion thew cause of workers in Zambia from the side of govt!

  7. KAMBWILI NEEDS TO SOBER DOWN. EVERY TIME HE SPEAKS, HE THINKS HE IS AT A PF RALLY. THE WAY HE PARADED CHINESE WORKERS AND LECTURED TO THEM ABOUT THEIR SEX LIVES WAS THE MOST PRIMITIVE THING I HAD EVER SEEN.

HOW WOULD HE FEEL IF ZAMBIANS IN CHINA WWERE PARADED LIKE THAT AND LECTURED ABOUT THEIR SEX LIVES IN FRONT OF TV CAMERAS.

EVEN IN HIS LABOUR PORTFOLIO, IF HE GOES THERE JUST FOR SHOW BEFORE TV CAMERAS, HE WILL CAUSE CAPITAL FLIGHT FROM INVESTORS.

  8. I really don’t understand why Mibenge was at pains trying to deny that they do not get funding from any Chinese companies. MMD does not owe anyone an explanation if their friend are still donating money unless the donors are linked to terrorist activities. I find it absurd that the President would make a public outcry over such a petty issue.

  10. Given Lubinda so far seems to be the best perfomer in the PF GOVT and he should be SATA’s successor if PF is to be given another 5 years come 2016. It is sad that he has been moved from the Tourism, Broadcasting and Information Ministry where he seemed to have done a tremendous job so far BUT again, i wish him luck with the new ministry as it looks like he the only one capable of doing a great job in that area for the benefit of Zambians.

Kambwili might also try in his new position despite some background issues – obviously he will stand out to serve the Zambian people given that the current situation in the labour market is not benefiting the local Zambian people in any ways.

His Excellence, President MCS should have rested the old and tired Shamenda as soon as possible. The man is old and a waste of resources as well as time. He may well be a figure in the PF GOVT but we need capable young men who can serve Zambians and not money wasters.

  11. Masebo should have been appointed MIBT minister. Shamenda will not manage that big ministry. He is not proactive. Lubinda was coming up very well. He will be missed in the ministry. Will Shamenda be able to handle the various issues on information and broadcasting, tourism? I feel sorry for Tourism. Lubinda was exposed to Tourism before his appointment, as for Shamenda i dont think so. For information and broadcasting at least they have the PS Malupenga.

We fear that the co-hosting of the UNWTO conference will benefit Zimbabwe only. We needed an action oriented person to move very quickly and meet all the requirements for the hosting. Shamenda can not beat the Zimbabweans, I dont think so…

    We will watch him….

  16. HIS EXCELLENCY, MCS HAS MADE A BRILLIANT MOVE. KAMBWILI’S APPOINTMENT AS LABOUR MINISTER WILL DEFINITELY BRING ALOT OF POSITIVE RESULTS. KAMBWILI HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MAN OF HIS WORDS. INVESTORS WHO MISUSE OR MISTREAT ZAMBIANS, PLEASE WATCH OUT. THE REAL MAN HAS FINALLY BEEN APPOINTED TO CLEAN UP ALOT OF BAD THINGS. ZAMBIAN WORKERS HAVE SUFFERED FOR A LONG TIME AND THIS IS THE TIME TO REJOICE. WE’LL SUPPORT KAMBWILI AND WE WISH HIM GOOD LUCK. GO GO KAMBWILI. GIVEN LUBINDA HAS ALSO FITTED VERY WELL IN THE NEW APPOINTMENT. SHAMENDA CAN ALSO DO BETTER WHERE HE HAS BEEN TAKEN.
ONCE AGAIN, EXCELLENT RESHUFFLE BY THE PRESIDENT.

  21. Congratulations Mr Sata for removing Kambwili from Foreign Affairs. This one of the best decisions you have made on your cabinet. For me it was long overdue. Lubinda is sober, intelligent, mature and exposed and I ave no doubt he will do a good job and make Zambia proud. He was equal to the task as Information. I’m not just sure how Shamenda will be at Information, but let’s give him chance. The other change the President must consider is GBM

  22. King cobra has every right to move his ‘best’ men to whatever ministry he feels they would perform at an optimum level. However, the reshuffle of Given Lubinda has left a sour taste in my mouth. The man should have been left there to implement the media reforms he is so passionate about. Anyway , king cobra is not interested in an independent media. His interest is in propaganda and anyone who stands in the way will be shown the exit door. Why have they still not settled the zamtel matter if it was clearly not legal? Why has the hide – and- seek game on zamtel continued? The term propaganda will take a new meaning under this government of self- styled purists and hypocrites. The chickens will surely come to roost more sooner than later. Why is king cobra so preoccupied with the funding of opposition parties, specifically the MMD? The only logical reason is that his main interest now is consolidation of power. Any possible threat to this must be dealt with. This is typical Machavellian and Hitler thinking! The MMD allowed him to flourish when they had the means to permanently cripple his party. It is only fair that the opposition are allowed all their rights. The king must know that the world has evolved today. Machavelli and Hitler tactics are not sustainable in the long run. Propaganda will soon be seen for what it is : propaganda. Zambia will make very little progress on a diet of propaganda which seems to be king cobra’s favourite.

THE QUESTION IS WILL BEMBAS ALLOW GIVEN LUBINDA TO TAKE CHARGE OF PF AND EVENTUALLY RULE ZAMBIA BECAUSE THEY HAVE SAID ONLY BEMBAS WILL LEAD PF AND ZAMBIA.PF WILL BE IN A TERRIBLE CRISIS BECAUSE LUBINDA IS THE ONLY CREDIBLE SUCCESSOR TO SATA. WE SHALL HOW YOU WILL HANDLE THIS SITUATION YOU FOOLISH BEMBAS.AS FOR ME WHEN LUBINDA TAKES OVER FROM SATA I WILL RESIGN FROM MY PARTY AND JOIN PF.

  25. i always thought the president was wrong to have placed Kambwili in Foreign Affairs, he has no diplomatic language in him, he is better at insulting the chinese and threatening mine managers (Kansanashi, Luanshya. His confrontational manner makes his glorified stay in USA child’s play. Thank you Your excellency for invoking your constitutional powers in refocusing the image of the nation.

International affairs requires sober considerate voice and character which unfortunately is lackin in Mr. Kambwili.

  28. sata has made a calculated move to shunt given to foreign affairs to stop him from manipulating the media in order to position himself for the presidency by increasing his visibility.in fact he was the only one getting most of the limelight. The trouble is that is that the pf has no heir apparent to mcs. should he die midship, there would be some in-fighting. guy can’t be president so that leaves a problem of who succeeds him. his replacement at tourism shamenda lacks the much needed charisma that goes with the job & his unshaven looks won’t help matters. as for kambwili, i really don’t know where he should be but certainly not at foreign affairs. he might have been combative as an opposition especially against the chinese, but with weak labour laws, he’ll just be rubber stamp..all in all it is just ploy to assuage non-bembas by bringing someone of lozi extraction into the so-called six..as for scott, he should have taken him elsewhere so that all the speculation about whether or not he can act as president are dealt with once and for all..

  34. This reshuffle has two aspects for Given, its to shut him up with a promotion, to dilute the top six bemba dynasty. Given is a threat to the bembas and they want him sorted out by shutting him up.Sata knows that from the top 6,Given and Scott cant take over from him, let alone a bemba man. Chimbwili Kashimba is just a dander head who just yap anyhow. Making noise like an empty drum. We know that Sata cant remove Scott coz the bembas dont want anyother tribe to take up the veep position and again, they cant give it to another bemba coz there will be cies. So, Given is just another stooge to dilute the bemba dynasty. We are watching!!!!

  40. So the old saying that there is no smoke without fire is correct. The other day we were told that Wo Lubinda was positioning himself to take over and to do this he had made sure he was being covered extensively by the media. Next the King moves him, so I guess there was some worries in certain quarters. Chishimba might have problems to settle in any ministry because he acts before he thinks. To me he is Foreman caliber and needs a planner for him. The boss must have seen the comedy of errors made in the diplomatic circles within the 90days.
Boss move before the Zambian people show you the red card from Fatherless Bwalya because of the non performing assistants you have appointed. Now we know why the labour movement died a natural death when Bambo Shamenda was playing the Fackson game with Chiluba.

  41. Some changes recently made by the President are good while some will not help much to improve the service delivery. Removing Hon. Shamenda from Labour Ministry is like destroying the foundations of the labour movement. Shamenda has been in the labour movement for a long time and therefore, has wider experience in labour matters. His first appointment as PF government labour minister was a plus as he understood workers issues better. Unfortunately it would appear perhaps that government is not comfortable with the way recent workers strike in the country was handled and the need to improve on the relation of and the investor confidence with regard to the demand for salary increases.

Hon. Given Lubinda is, as far as I am concerned, a good player in both the ministries he was and where he is going to be. I do not see the reason why the President has decided to shift him, though he is likely going to do well.

As for Hon. Kambwili, some people have openly accused him of being insensitive in certain areas of administration at Foreign Affairs Ministry. But again the labour ministry is as good as foreign affairs in dealing with workers issues. One can only speculate that Kambwili’s approach in contrast with Shamenda’s will be that of soft and side with the investors and the government without being sensitive to the workers’ demands in view of the PF government failure to fulfill campaign promises such as improvement of workers conditions. Mind you, Shamenda was a strong proponent of better workers conditions of service given that his background experience in dealing with workers matters makes him understand workers needs.

Hope the new Hon will not politicise it.
Zambia is Still growing and still rooting itself up economically, so our leaders should not expect the bumper harvest every were & too early.
They should instead ignore the campaign promises and first remain focused on real issues found in offices.

  45. These transfers are really smart. Hon. Given Zayelo Lubinda is a general player and can fit anywhere but Foreign Affairs is a strattegic institution and no doubt he will fit there very well. On the other hand, Hon. Kambwili is a militant and a people person and so he will sort out the Chinese and mine owners, especially on minimum wage, I hope he can forestall wok stoppages as well.

As for Hon. Shamenda, my fear is that he has not impressed and may be on his way out. The media glare will not suit his melancholy personality and unshaven cheeks!!!

He is a wrong person cos, in as much as he tries to terrorise the Chinese, he is a nobody! His background is just that of a filing Clerk in the Company Secretary’s department in the former ZCCM at Nchanga.
