Open homosexuality in Kabwe on the rise

Kabwe gays

By Watchdog Reporter
Homosexuality is reportedly on the increase in Kabwe and residents have called on police to curb the vice.
They have also asked for night  club owners to bar a group of known gays from entering their premises before people’s morals are compromised.
And sources from the police have comfirmed the presence of homosexuality in the town but say they can not do anything about the matter as it seems to be something that has a blessing of the current leadership.
On new year’s eve, a check at some popular night spots revealed the presence of suspected gays ‘having fun’ with their mates as onlookers watched.

  2. May I remind the Haters on this thread that the anti gay laws that you are referring to as “our Laws” is a relic from the colonial era. It is in the same bracket as the hated Public Order Act! The Authors of these stupid laws, the British, have themselves moved on. And you are still stuck with your stupidity. Do you now understand why Zambia is stuck and not moving forward? Its because you refuse to take that one giant step forward to leave backwardness behind!

    • You are correct. It is the same argument they use to justify the stripping of women who wear mini skirts which to them are immoral and un-African and yet forget that traditionally Africans did not wear much clothing and were not ashamed of their bodies. It is also a fallacy to claim that all African societies condemned homosexual behaviour when their is ample evidence that that is not the case as homosexuality was accepted by many societies before the bible brainwashing of the Europeans.

  3. Anybody who is homophobic should not use the computer as it was invented by a gay English man called Truring. Hate gays then dont have anything to do with them and never ever use the computer and see how you will be able to live your life in this modern world. How ironic peoople who are supposedly modern and have access to modern technology use technology invented by a gay man to condemn gay! What would the world have been like if Truring had been put to death because of his sexuality?

      • It was invented by a gay man. Is that so hard to understand? If you are so against gay people then dont use the computer as it is a product of a gay man’s mind – a man who had sex with other men. Why cant you accept gay people when you willingly accept products of their creativity be it a computer, fashion ,music

  4. I have a friend that hated Gay people to the roots!!He didn’t even want to hear any of the names they give them! The thought made him throw up!!He wished for them dead, thrown to prison n all the nasty things u can do to something u hate.Little did he know that 3 of his own closest relatives n friend where actually closeted gay!!His first n best brother that paid for his education n his wedding n always there for him in every little thing to see him happy. His 14years old son,his only son n treasure was so gay but sad n lost concentration in school n just social life because he was so scared of his homophobia father finding out.His childhood best friend who was there the all time for him, where best men on each others weddings, not knowing he had an affair with his brother!!
You can not always tell who is gay!Your own father can be gay but “happily married” with the best family!!No one chooses to be gay as much as u can not believe that!!We just have to concentrate on praying for each other instead of hating!!God love everyone, even u as u hate a fellow human for what u have no idea why n how they r how they r!Change ur ways n do right!!May God bless us as we learn to leave everything to him in prayer!!Happy new year!!

    • It is folly to say no one chooses to be gay. Ever seen a dog homo? Why not because their sexual behaviour is programmed – they act on instict. But humans are endowed with freedom to choose. That is why humans can chose to be celibate, not animals. One more point you gay champions – paedophiles should be let alone because it is thier sexual orientation and so should those who practice bestiality. Do you see where such apologetic reasoning can take humanity?

  7. What the Bible Says – And Doesn’t Say – About Homosexuality

PREMISE: Most people have not carefully and prayerfully researched the biblical texts often used to condemn God’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender children.

Biblical ignorance is an epidemic. In the United States, a study quoted by Dr. Peter Gomes in The Good Book found that 38 % of Americans polled were certain the Old Testament was written a few years after Jesus’ death. 10% believed Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife. Many even thought the epistles were the wives of the apostles.

This same kind of biblical ignorance is all too present around the topic of homosexuality. Often people who love and trust God’s Word have never given careful and prayerful attention to what the Bible does or doesn’t say about homosexuality. For example, many Christians don’t know that:
    • Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.
    • The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.
    • Only six or seven of the Bible’s one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way — and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it’s understood today.

Most people who are certain they know what the Bible says about homosexuality don’t know where the verses that reference same-sex behavior can be found. They haven’t read them, let alone studied them carefully. They don’t know the original meaning of the words in Hebrew or Greek. And they haven’t tried to understand the historical context in which those words were written. Yet the assumption that the Bible condemns homosexuality is passed down from generation to generation with very little personal study or research. The consequences of this misinformation are disastrous, not only for God’s gay and lesbian children, but for the entire church.

The bible was not disseminated in the early church under the form in which it came to be known later as the bible. Early Christians read and venerated (that is respected with reverence) many books now rejected as apocryphal (that is writings of questionable authenticity) (i.e., the Epistle of Barnabas). Roman Catholicism did not officially establish the bible until the Council of Trent in 1546, although there had been general agreement on the contents of the New Testament (NT) at least since the eighth century.

The bible was not the only or even principal source of early Christian ethics and bible passages on homosexuality had very little to do with early Christian misgivings on the subject. Despite the misleading English translations which may imply the contrary, the word homosexual does not occur in the bible; no extant (that is existing) text of Hebrew, Greek, Syriac, or Aramaic contains such a word. In fact none of these languages ever contained a word corresponding to the English “homosexual,” nor did any languages have such a term before the late nineteenth century. Neither Hebrew nor Arabic has such a word today, nor does modern Greek, except as they coin words by analogy.” There are of course ways to get around the lack of a specific word in a language, and an action may be condemned without being named.

      • Western civilization promotes equality for minorities. Which is something apparently you need. Gays are allowed to live their lives in peace in most places in the West. Nor do they have to fear being killed for loving someone of the same-sex. They go to school, adopt children, and have families no different than many of yours. What you want is an excuse to validate hating people you don’t understand? You probably know gay people who will not admit they are gay due to views like those expressed here. Western nations allow gays to live, love, and be happy. And society in general prospers.

      16:58

      • Your laws are unjust. They need to be changed. So will you also be policing those who commit adultery? How about children who disrespect their parents? Or better yet will you be stoning people outright in the streets for other “vices”. You only hold that view because you don’t understand what these people go through. They are brave to be who they are. They are surrounded by people filled with hatred towards them yet try to live their lives. Who are you to judge anyone? I am sure if people turned an eye to what you are doing they would find you are filled with vice as well. Should someone stone you to death or imprison you for your vices? Jesus gave two basic commandments “Love your God with all your heart and soul. And love your neighbor as yourself.” Essentially don’t hate, harm, or injure people. Love them!

      • Simply put: according to the Zambia Law, being Gay is a crime and you will be arrested and tried for that while the other list (by Nalu) is simply considered “morally wrong” and therefore not arrestable. Having read the blog by Nalu, I wasn’t so sure if grasping your response would be another issue!
Nonetheless, we as people or human beings should stop “judging” others simply because they are different from us. We as Africans were once considered as “man like” apes and condemned to all sorts. Today we do the same to what are fellow human beings. We call ourselves a christian nation, and half on the comments on this blog are “supposed” to be based on Christianity but God preaches love, forgiveness and prayer. So were is this hate coming from? I do not belief in or support same sex relationships but I would not condemn another fellow human being for being “who they are”. And as far as I am concerned we are all the creations of God…He who casts the first stone!

    • Are you Jamaican? Have you seen what homophobia does to people in your country? People are beaten and killed for even being accused of being gay, and it’s a reputation that follows one for life, making them societal outcasts. What is Christian or African about that? Christianity is about forgiveness (although I don’t believe that it is a sin), and the most common traditional customs in Zambia were usually economic compensation by the offender to the victim, if one had been wronged (as opposed to execution). But homosexuality was not considered something punishable. You should change your name to “White English Man Culture Defender”.

  20. Your country should move to embrace all people. No matter if they are gay or straight. Also some of the comments on this article I hope do not reflect the state of education in your nation. God is love and if you spend your time hating people then you are definitely not loving God. How can you treat your fellow man this way and have any room to call yourselves Christian? It is inhumane and ungodly to hate people you do not even know or to treat them as subhuman. Gays deserve rights just like everyone else. Many of you probably know someone who is gay in your own family and don’t even realize it. Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean they wear a sign saying, “I am gay”. When you say such hateful things you are harming your family, friends, and people you don’t even know. You make people doubt they are loved and by doing so they are taught to doubt God. Since God is LOVE! In the name of Jesus who died for ALL stop these hateful views!

      16:31

      • No I won’t burn in Hell. God loves everyone no matter where they come from. Also your land does not belong to you and neither does your life. Both belong to God who is the epitome of LOVE.
Matthew 22:36-40, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Which you are ultimately breaking when you seek to actively harm people different than you.

All people are one who believe in Jesus Christ even if they are straight or gay. Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are ALL ONE in Christ Jesus.” That means everyone not just heterosexuals.

How do gay people you don’t even know living their lives actually harm you? They don’t. You are looking for any validation to hate people you don’t understand.

        Daniel English - January 2, 2013
        16:51

        • Daniel. We love these gay people that is the reason why we do not stone them as you are suggetsing. We talk to them, out of love and that is how you can see them in broad daylight. We however, hate their sin; and in this country that sin is criminalised. We shall therefore have them arrested and take them to prison as a correctional measure; so that they can reflect on their criminal acts and reform. Those are laws for this country, if people are not happy, the best they can do is to lobby for change. Until that change occurs they are liable to be caged.

          17:18

          • You can’t correct something that is natural. That is part of the problem. You believe that homosexuality is a choice. Looking at half the hateful comments on this article. Do you really believe gays would wish to be hated by choice? When did you choose to be heterosexual? You didn’t. You can’t tell me a time and a place you chose to be heterosexual. All of this hatred stems from people who hate what they do not understand. Also you don’t imprison people out love. You don’t seek to deny their basic rights out of love. If that is love to you then you are blind.

Sata bonked and fathered a child with Inutu Suba, Tresphore Mpundus sister and Christine Kaseba is an illegitimate fornicator companion of Sata since he married her after unfairly divorcing the first wife.

    • So will you also be policing those who commit adultery? Love them!

    • God loves everyone no matter where they come from.
