Dictator Michael Sata’s Police in Lusaka have today around 16:20 hours locked up MMD leader Never Mumba on the charge of wilfully failure to comply with applicable procedure relating to management of public funds.

The PF police have also arrested him on three counts of abuse of office.

Charges are that on dates unknown,Mumba wilfully failed to comply with laid down procedures in receiving and disbursing Canadian Dollars 122,229.85 a donation to the Zambian government by a a private company called Barrick Gold Corporation.

Other charges are that Mumba abused his authority by awarding contracts of 9000, 19850, and 5248 Canadian Dollars for electrical works, carpeting and construction of a deck at the Zambian High Commission in Canada.

He has been remanded in custody at Woodlands Police Station and will appear in court tomorrow.

Earlier police wanted to get Mumba’s finger prints which he refused because they wanted to use them in implicating him.

This is the the third time the police are detaining Zambia’s former envoy to Canada in a space of two months.

Mumba was was summoned to appear before the Task Force today but told the police that the notice was too short and that he should be allowed to meet them on Wednesay.

The police working under pressure from State House told him to report himself today or be picked up by force.

‘Yes I am in the cells now at Woodlands police station,’ Mumba told the Watchdog.

His lawyers led by Sakwiba Sikota were frantically trying to get him out on police bond by 16: 30 local time, but the Watchdog has been informed that president Michael Sata has ordered the police to make sure he spends at least a day in cells.

    Mistaken Identity - January 9, 2013

    • “666 MARK OF THE BEAST IS WHAT BA KATOLIKA HAVE PUT US INNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Men you don’t know what you are talking about, perhaps its better to keep quite on some issues if you have little knowledge about it. In academic we encourage honesty, but your comment shows that you are not honesty cos you pretend as if you know what you are talking about when you are saying about the number 666 in the Bible. what is for scholars leave it for the scholars or better still ask them, they will tell you what it means. You are simply displaying your Ignorance of scripture and “Ignorance of scripture is equivalent to ignorance of Christ.” So which ever Christian denomination you belong to, that your denomination has to improve its theology. Don’t joke with theology if you don’t have any authority over it. You are the people who underrates scholarship you. Tiisileni vinthu vinangu or better still ask us. How is Sata and Mumba now connected with the number 666 in the Bible, its a clear discord. you are really a misteken Identity, even what you are saying is perhaps mistaken as well. the Ethiopian Eunuch was humble enough to seek explanation, cos he wasn’t able to understand, (Act8: 26-40).
