Sata to address nation when swearing-in Munkombwe Tuesday

Ailing president Michael Sata will again peep into the cameras and address the nation when swearing-in fellow old relic Daniel Munkombwe of the politics of the belly on Tuesday.

Mr. Sata has appointed Munkombwe as the new deputy minister for Southern province after firing Muchinga province Minister Charles Banda who has since been re-aligned as High Commissioner to Malawi.

State House sources have told the Watchdog that the swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow at 09:00 hours when the president will also give policy directions to the nation since he never addresses press conferences or feature on radio and TV interviews.

The Watchdog understands that current Southern province Minister Josephine Limata has been transfered to Ministry of Community Development while the current deputy minister there whoever it has been has been sent to Muchinga province.

Mr. Sata has also swapped Local Government Permanent Secretary Benard Namachila with Southern province counterpart Chileshe Mulenga.

  8. Civics under PF has become a mental subject since it is a very very current affairs subject. Every morning pupils are asked questions like “Who was the Deputy Minister of Southern Province yesterday?” Or “By how many Ministers did the President over nominate?” Or better still “Is there likely to be a bye-election next week?”

  10. Sata is a visionary leader.A PS like Chileshe who is blank with gvt procedures for civil service need to be reshuffled cos he was a let down to the province. The best was to fire him not to transfer a problem to another place. We need Munkombwe for wisdom cos he has the experience.

  16. @Njekwa. I totally agree with u. KK used to appear on ballot boxes against frogs because he annihilated the opposition, until this frog took the form of the masses that revolted in the food riots, and momentarily over threw him. The current President better realize that he needs the opposition because they are some kind of a buffer zone between him and the people. If there’s no opposition parties, he’s going to have to deal with the people head on! And it won’t be pleasant. Former East German, Poland and the USSR leant this valuable lesson. The Soweto uprising in 1977 was a result of the racist government’s refusal to un ban the ANC, so the school children took the law in their hands. That uprising wasn’t organized by politicians from ANC, PAC or Inkhata, it was a spontaneous reaction by boys and girls who couldn’t take any more nonsense. As for Munkombwe, I feel this man is a tragedy of Zambian politics and an affront to the PF youthful MPs that fought so hard for their party. In a few days Kenya will be swearing in a youthful leader in Uhuru Kenyatta. What a new lease of life for Kenya and for Africa. If Sata thinks Munkombwe is popular in SP,he’s badly mistaken! What is popular about Munkombwe is his own mouth and belly to himself.

Now is Sata prepared to go the route taken by kk where the only opposition will be the masses? Iam afraid that his end is very soon & i predct a disatrous end. He has no one to tell him the wrongs & in short he is a dictator.
