Buchi SDA booe minister Chitotela for asking church to explain PF fuel policies

Congregants at Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Kitwe’s Buchi Township on Saturday murmured and booed at Deputy Labour Minister Ronald Chitotela when said that the church should help the government to explain to the people why it had lifted subsidies on fuel.
Mr Chitotela admitted telling the church to help the government to explain to the people why government had lifted subsidies on fuel, but denied that the congregants murmured and booed at him, saying that the SDA was a disciplined church which works with the government.
Mr Chitotela, who is an elder at SDA panicked and asked the Reporter who had given him such a ” distorted information” about the service in Buchi township in Kitwe.
“No, i was not booed or murmured at, that is not true. Who told you that distorted information? Mr Chitotela said.
But, the congregants, who attended the service said Mr Chitotela was booed and murmured when he said the church should explain to the people why government had lifted subsidies on fuel.
The congregants said were not happy that Mr Chitotela had turned the church into a political platform after he was given time to talk to the people.
“The congregants booed and murmured at Mr Chitotela when he started preaching politics in church. The people got more annoyed when he started he told the church to start explaining to the people why the government had lifted subsidies on fuel.
“There was some sort of a confusion in church because now people were making noise and asking each other if it was the role of the church to explain government decisions to the people,” said some congregants at the church.

  4. The Church and State should not be mistaken to work together. If the state was working together, the Roman Government would have not found itself in the forefront to persecute Christ. We have witnessed through history that each time the Church mingled with the state, there were massive bloodshed and death. The Dark Ages bear witness to this fact. Let the Government explain its decision to its people and let the Church preach the gospel and pray for the Government Leadership.

  6. Forgive the Elder he forgot that he was in the presence of the all mighty rather he was in the holly temple. The church is a sacred place not for politics. In the first place the church is to blame for giving him the platform to speak to the saints. The Guy is insane.

  7. In the first place why invite him to say something in the church? He should only get to the pulpit when he has a duty to perform that relates to warship since he is an elder. The churches that give people chance to talk about their political duties in church are stealing God’s time. Its a place of warship not a place for politics.

  9. Ronald Chitotela is a fig tree in the church and a dry tree at the same time, shame on him. In the times of king herode he was supposed to be crucified of dropped headlong. Nowadays he just deserves to be disfellowshiped.

  10. That minister who preached politics in church deserves to be disfellowshiped. There’s no way he could preach what we call heresy in the church because of he had all the time on the course of the week to say that to cadres and other interested politicians not at the pulpit. If it was in the times of Jesus, other church leaders were supposed to to take him to his fellow higher ranking official for judgemet, where other disgusted church members would shout INSTELLE or CRUCIFY for his hipocrisy. Shame on him for showing how dry his spirit is. Indeed that man is a dry tree so dangerous for any church member to stay near. Do you realise how it can be easily stricken by lightening and cause injury to anybody nearby. If not a dry tree he is a fig tree which produces fruits with different kinds of creatures inside, namely: small ants, maggots and small flying insects. The good Lord God Jehova has finally exposed what kind of spiritual fruit he was bearing. Looking good outwards but rotten inside. Having the form of godliness but yet denying the power. Shame on him, because he has turned the house of God into a buisiness platform. In short he deserves to be disfellowshiped.

  13. Dep Minister Chitotela is in deep trouble. He knows exactly that, the Pf has totally Miss managed the country as such he can’t be sober & comfortable at all, even when he is attending Church service. How on earth does he request the church to be a mouth peace of GVT. SDA mission is to Preach the 3 Angels Massage! Period. Chitotela failed to enjoy the presence of God instead he was just worried of people’s complaints on PF miss management of the country. PF campaign promises are far from reach. PF has Lost direction & as such MPs are desperately looking for support even in wrong places such as the Church. The church did good to booe Chitotela for bringing â wrong agenda on the Pulpit. PF kwena mwasebana. Akambesa kaisula menshi, kale bunda, uwamano alefumamo.

  22. It is a shame that an elder of the SDA church when invited to address a SDA church congregation on a Sabbath chooses to talk politics or encourage his members to start preaching politics and not evangelise. It is sad indeed if this really happened for Adventists are very strict with their faith and do not engage in politics on a church platform. They may ask for prayers or pray for politicians, not engage in politics.

Is this something that can warrant disfellowshipped if proved, SDAs?

  23. A wrong platform for politicking, indeed. One would have expected the elder to humbly ask the Church to pray that he and his superiors may be guided by God, our Creator, in the management of public affairs, which are being mismanaged at the moment. In any case, the congregation should merely have recognised, if necessary, the presence of the Deputy Minister and not asking him to speak.

  27. The SDA Church is disciplined. They are not like other churches that fail to observe the a simple commandment of remembering to keep the sabbath. The mission of the SDA is noble compared to Chitotela’s selfish agenda. He should not associate the SDA with PFs evil agenda and failure to govern. By the way I am not SDA.

Should Mr. Chitotela continue with his evil strategy I am sure that the SDA will not hesitate to dis-fellowship him. He should go to church simply to pray and to seek forgiveness for his sins. We are all sinners any way.

The fact that Mr. Chitotela is eating well as Minister, it does not give a license to defend this evil government that is impoverishing the majority of Zambians and failing the people by calling for useless bye elections and sharing RDA funds. If he is truly a man of the Church, let Mr. Chitotela condemn these evil vices in the PF Government.
