Mulongoti would have done well joining other parties-Chituwo

MMD Vice president for administration Dr. Brian Chituwo has expressed sadness at the caliber of politicians in the country.

Dr. Chituwo has told Qfm News in an interview that it is worrying to see that some politicians have gone to the extent of isolating themselves by forming their political parties.

Dr. Chituwo explains that politicians like People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti would have done well to rejoin the MMD and help reorganize the party than isolating himself by forming another political party.

He states that though Mr.Mulongoti has the right to form his own party, he needed to consult widely for him to make his dream come true, adding that Mr. Mulongoti would have joined other political parties than rushing to forming his own political party.

Dr. Chituwo has since wished the MMD founder member Mike Mulongoti the best in his political ambitions as the leader of the People’s Party.

  2. Dr.Chituwo,we always admire your reasoning. You always stand out from most of our Politicians in this country. You can make a very good president of any party in this country because of your personality. You are stable person, your tone does not change with political weather like Mulongolti, you think with your brain unlike people like Mpombo who will say anything to fill up their bellies, you are not a political puppet, you are able to speak to the point, a rare ingredient in Zambian politics. Even the PF has been admiring you but can not lure you into their nest because you are such a smart and clean person.kindly consider taking over from Nevers Mumba who has lamentably failed to tick,he is just a pretender. If PF offered him a job,he will cross over at once and MMD will be left in the cold.

  7. Well said Dr Chituwo. Here is one of zambia’s most intelligent and balanced leaders. A leader who is all embracing irrespective of tribe. In him I see the hope for zambia. President sata once called Mwanawasa as having a family tree but is afamily FOREST. In embassies, perm secs, dep ministers, ministers and the remaining parastatals it is all from one region. And yet they have the audacity to call others tribalists. By the way I also learn Bwalya Chiti is being groomed to take over from sata. Again from bembaland. Dont call others trbalists

  9. Mulongoti was very categorical: he had been MP, Minister and the rest, Now he wanted to be a President. It is this syndrome of always trying to be the top, top most, top Dog, which even brought about the break in the PF-UNDP pact.

Even if the 2 leaders agree, those around them who stood to lose more would ensure that the PAct did not work, otherwise “kufilila munsenga”.
It also this same syndrome which affects the quality of opposition in the country. How can a country with barely 14m people have 40 parties?

Our PF is here to stay as long as the opposition don’t get together. Sata doesn’t even need to go out buying MPs, or bribing anyone to join PF, all those apsiring to be leaders will just approach him on their own.
So let Mulongoti exercise his democratic right, just like all of you can if you wanted.

  12. Mr. Mulongoti should one day wake up and look at his image in the mirror and determine if Zambians can place his portrait near that of Kaunda or Late Levy Mwanawasa, may his soul rest in peace. I agree with Dr Chituwo but I wish to add by saying that Mr. Mulongoti should have respect for a president who rehabilitated him by staying in MMD. Anyway Zambian politicians have a very strong ego and he won’t see what I see when I look at his portrait.

At any rate this supposed to be a free country let the man feel good by calling himself president of a political party. We have seen many presidents of political parties in this country some of them even getting into state house but without any ideas of how they wish to govern and improve the welfare of the Zambians. It may take 90 years for Mr. Mulongoti’s party to have one MP.

  16. In my own opinion it wasn’t wrong for mr mulongoti to form his party after-roll he has a right to do so,instead the timing was bad he needed to look around and see which other party was doing better than the rolling party pf of course we all know the reasons why mr mulongoti can’t join pf, he expected a position in pf unfortunately that chance never came for him, hence his decision to have his own paty to me he is not honest enough if really he wants to help zambias political reign to be sound en of substance he should have sat down with other political party’s with a view of finding a lasting solution to these uncertainty political confusions we have had for a long time in zambia,Viva PF for giving tazara money for their salary’s its the only government in 20yrs which has sought of revamping tazara’s initial capital once more VIVA VIVA PF i salute u DADY BASATA god bless you.

  22. Zambian its time you realised that not politician with white hair are really adults, the some way my son admires ronaldo and messi thats the same way they also admire MCS ,they want to stay in the oppostion for about eight years and they wnt to begin with one member of parliament
then rise if they can! the only redemption Zambian have after Sata is a new crop of young leaders, these guys in govtment to day were too old 15 years ago,how can you talk or prepare about the future when you aint gona be there!!!! and you trust them with future of country ,the future of your children they dont give a fu…so wise up and look at someone who will have a future to worry about, who has children they want to educate, someone who wants to be sec.general at the UN.some with a reputation to hold for future offices not those who have reached their destine…like mukombwe, chikwanda, and Grey Zulu intimated that his chances of bouncing back in the main areana is high now as minister since is the old madala govt,he bet on saying its easy for him to get a job than it is for all or any youth provicial chairmans of PF..today.

    • Its not right to compare Dr Chituwo with Mr. Mutati. One is a simple book keeper where the other one is a respected surgeon. One is respected family man and the other one is a marriage breaker. One is rich through dubious business deals and the other one refuses to be corrupted in any way. We can go on and on giving the contrasts.
