TIZ Condemns Kabimba for Ferrying PF Thugs for Interrogation

Transparent International Zambia (TIZ) has condemned Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba for creating unnecessary confusion when he was called for interrogation at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) offices yesterday.

On Monday, Kabimba, who is PF general secretary, refused to be interrogated privately over the alleged bribes he received in pushing for a contract for Trafigura Oil saying it was a matter of public interest.

The ACC officers tried to reason with Kabimba but he insisted on being questioned in the presence of PF thugs that mobbed the ACC offices and created commotion with the blessing of Kabimba.

This comes barely a day after President Sata affirmed the PF commitment to fight against corruption.

President Sata promised that there will be no sacred cows and that every suspected corruption case will be dealt with severely according to the rule of law.

But Kabimba created a huge contradiction that leaves people questioning if government is serious in fighting corruption.

TIZ executive director Goodwell Lungu has said it was sad that Kabimba who is the custodian of the law in Zambia failed to respect a constitutional office of the ACC.

He said there is need for Kabimba to resolve his difference with the ACC and let the law take its course.

  1. that was disapointing.honestly if God threw lucifa away from heavens.then i will wonder why ‘minister’ like kabimba should still live in ‘heavens’ with the zero tolerance to corruption.

  2. Wynter is an arrogant, pompous and proud lawyer. He has sata wrapped around his finger. He can’t be fired. This is only breeding more problems for sata. What a shame!

  3. Hello guys the point is that The president could be also involved in the deal. Doesn’t this smell a rat. he has failed to fire Wynter because wynter was just a pipeline to the deal. the actual consumer is Sata. He can’t fire GBM because GBM knows everything.

I challenge Sata if he is not involved to come out in the open and fire these ministers. As a public member and Zambian i employ LAZ, NGOCC, HH and Chipimo to dig deeper into this saga of Tafigura oil dear more is hiden.

  4. Wynter Kabimba is a not fit to occupy the office of Justice minister. he is slowly running mad. what he did was tantamount to obstruction of justice and thus he was suppose to be charged. the chap is too pompous. i think HIV virus is hitting had. anyway his days are numbers. The HIV viral load has increased and his brain is badly affected thus impairing his thinking capability. The chap may also be suffering from Cryptococcal meningitis,TB meningitis or viral meningitis. The chap needs quick treatment otherwise we shall loose him very very soon.

  5. For a mement let’s Focus on ACC. Well funded organisation. They have everything at their disposal to investigate. Even after a month they have found nothing against Mr GBM and Mr Wynter(Thats why they have not arrested them). They prefer to follow a strange procedure of trying to interrogate before arrest. In other words they want assistance from the accused. Every citizen whether minister or man in the street deserves justice. Quickly investigate Arrest them and take them to court otherwise its persecution. Look at Dr. Simon Miti ACC made us all believe he is under investigation. Even the appointing Authority revolked his appointment as Ambassadior. Now after Dr Miti has suffered for more than one year they say he was not even an accused. He was just a witness. The ACC does not get instructions from anybody. But they should be answerable to the people and not be alloeed to destroy innocent people like Dr Simon Miti or maybe GBM and Mr Wynter

  17. I excitedly ran to read the Post this morning, hoping to find a big screaming headline on Wynter Kabinga. Your guess is as good as mine on what I found. Whatever happened to these once “famous” newspapers.

  18. Wynter is pompous. Let the ACC also probe him over his support of patrick chibamba. He has been representing him in court even when he knows that chief shakumbila forged so many documents. please, editor, can you also put back the article on Chikumbe chibamba. we the sala people have suffered. we are tired of a chief who is just stealing money from poor villagers.

  19. Its animal farm era pipo.pliz do not be perplexed.

Kabimba is on record to have writen to the ACC demanding to be furnished with a report on the findings.he issued ultimatums.

In a strange turn of events, kabimba did not go back to the media to state whether or not ACC complied and if not, whether he was going to proceed with the judicial recourse.

Instead, the ACC went ahead to act professionally and sumon kabimba for question as an ongoing investigations deened fit to get clarifications from him.

Being a civilised and mature team at ACC,they put all this in place to have kabimba (a minister of justice) interviewed in confortable, conducive and confidential atmosphere, what does kabimba do???spit in the face of justice…arogantly derail the due process of law.
On ther side..kabimba’s minions are mute, the headlines are silent, what about editorial???pliz pipo lets wake up!!

My question is:where were the tear gas throwing, shortbaton waving and trigar happy police?did all teargas stock run out on upnd and MMD?
Is their hope for equality before the law?or are these pf(powerful failers) in gvt our new law????in the final analysis…….the country is under perilious seige.

  21. ”He said there is need for Kabimba to resolve his difference with the ACC and let the law take its course.”

Lungu the statement above is misplace. What difference has Kabimba got to resolve with ACC? Kabimba should just go and be answerable to the commission as this body need not have any understanding between them. The impression you are giving is the Kabimba must or should cut a deal with ACC which in itself is corruption of the highest kind. Hopefully you were misquoted as it were.
