UPND seeks to expel MPs aligned to PF

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) is seeking to expel its members of parliament who are aligning themselves with the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party.

According to UPND secretary general Winstone Chibwe, the party is carrying out investigations through a disciplinary hearing and will expel any members found to be courting the PF.

Chibwe has since charged Sinazongwe member of parliament Richwell Siamunene with gross misconduct contrary to article 7 (b) of the party disciplinary code of conduct.

Chibwe says Siamunene was required to appear before the disciplinary committee to exculpate himself.

“Reference is made to my minute dated July 5, 2012 in which I leveled charges against you with an instruction for you to respond within seven days from that date. I have since received your response dated June 12, 2012 of which I am not satisfied,” stated Chibwe.

He accused Siamunene’s wife of attacking the party leadership.

“Your wife further indicated that the president hates you and that he wants to grab the little piece of land you own in Zimba. It was also indicated that you are so popular in the constituency to the extent that even when you stood for elections as an independent candidate, you performed extremely well,” he said.

“Numerous adverse reports have reached my office about your conduct in the constituency. This prompted me to send a team to visit the area. The district had raised some of these issues with you in the minute of March 24, 2012 to which you have continued to ignore,” he stated,” Chibwe stated.

He said any member who will be found wanting on displinary charges will be asked to leave the party.

  1. Imwe Bantu you don’t understand the behaviour of cadres in likes of Mwansa Mwanakashi-Mupondo.Some of us who have observed the behaviour of cadres over a period of time ,here are some attributes/characteristics of hardcore cadres:
1.One should not see beyond his/her nose or reason rationally.
2.Dancing at the airport and reveal a dancing style that is meant for the husband, that is if she has any. Most of them are not married but sperm chambers for senior Party officials.
3.Bark on behalf of the boss at all cost to scare perceived enemies.
4.Insult all perceived enermies of his /her party 0r the boss.
5.As a cadre sing praise of the party and the boss even she/he(the cadre)has no food at home.
6.As a cadre one must have blind loyalty;that is if there’s a smell of icisushi nearby coming from the master,a cadre will not say icisushi nacinunka boss. But will say icisushi boss cilifye bwino nacinunkila. That is the behaviour of cadres.
7.As a cadre its not important to have good education. That is the majority of cadres have little education and do not analyse issues rationally.Cadres do not reason as long as little money and beer is available and supplied by the boss.I rest my case.So gentlemen and esteemed ladies do not waste your time on this Mwansa Mwanakashi mupondo or whatever she calls herself. These are already spoilled lot.I rest my case.

  11. Expel that greedy mp and remain with the principled mps you have always had, if he is that popular we shall see, but we all know he will receive early gratuity.
PF is wasting money bribing opposition at the cost of our economy, inflation is skyrocketing, critical food, energy and fuel shortages but all this doesnt move them they only concern is to stabilise the opposition. And fools like mwansa with smoked brains sing praises to them until their ship sinks in utter failure.

    • Suggestor, UPND mps are only afraid of losing their seats if they defected to pf – there is nothing about principles or discipline – Southern province is a special case – if UPND had mps in other swing provinces, like lusaka, central and CB, some by now would have resigned and recontested their seats and likely to win but not in Southern Province – it’s only fear of loosing that keeps upnd mps intact – its not about discipline or being principled.

As the ques gets longer, essential commodities disaapearing from shelves and becoming un affordable and civil servants not being paid their allowances on time the discontent will start to image. Districts, universities, etc pronouncement won’t save Sata. He has to work his ass off. His pronouncements are like the shanty compounds houses constructions where everyday a new house or kantemba pops up witbout a plan. Shame of these thieves.

putting twenty million in a useless activity like that; you should have put up a Kama small bridge across one of the many streams, for community my brother. or perhaps you are doing a dotch kubeba, but now should that be the case, won’t the ‘fishermen pull the line’?

I am slowly beginning to like winstone chibwe.he has of late been coming out tough.thats how the secretary general should be.if it means losing, its better to lose and remain with mps who are ready to provide checks and balances.let all those who do not want to provide checks and balances resign from their opposition parties and join the pf since they want to be saying the same language with the pf.its either you are opposition or pf you can not have it both ways.
